  1. I drove by there yesterday to check things out. Dock was still sideways off the bank and as you noted, at the end of the ramp. There were rigs in the lot, I think some of them are launching off the blacktop, it's PROBABLY high enough you can back out with the main motor, but I'd at least trim it up some, or just use the TM. Having two people to launch makes it a lot easier.
  2. Your local Wally should have it.
  3. Panko is good stuff, I've had it in restaurants, but never have tried frying fish in it myself. Have to put it on my to do list.
  4. Just got back from my weekly trip to WalMart World. There was not a line to get in, I got there about 0830 and there were not enough people to exceed the capacity numbers. And for the BIG news they had both hand sanitizer AND TP. Very limited supply and no choice, the hand sanitizer comes in a 34 OZ bottle and the TP in a 1 pack. So I got a bottle of HS and a pack of TP. I now have plenty and can offer some to friends and relatives should they need some, but I am hoping we are over the hump as far as hoarding. They also had plenty of eggs and pretty much everything was relatively well stocked except for canned soup, there was soup available but not much variety. Angel Soft TP and it says on the package that it both Soft AND Strong. I guess I'll find out.
  5. Congrats on some good catching! I have been thinking of a chatterbait myself, seems like the pros are throwing them on just about every tourney show I watch. And they are catching fish. I watch how they work them and it seems most of the time they just roll them like you would a crankbait.
  6. Yep they have marshals, and unless things have changed, the marshals get to pay to sit there.
  7. Louisiana Seasoned Crispy Fish Fry is my favorite. Adds some zing to bland fish like crappie and walleye. Easy too, coat the fillet, drop it in the oil.
  8. Antiquated way of doing things (weigh-in) at least at that level. However they sometimes get big crowds for the weigh in and I think that is what drives the keep five mentality.
  9. Good luck buddy, I'll be interested to hear how you do.
  10. What I want to know is who stuck the swab up the Tiger's nose and lived to tell about it? As to the medial opinions on the persistence of this virus, there are some scary scenarios. There's so much noise out there about this stuff that it is hard for this layman to figure out what to believe.
  11. Water temp got up over 58 in spots last week before it got cold and when that happens some of those males will get shallow and get the house ready for mama.
  12. Yeah it is just not the same without the big names and big personalities that used to be in BASS.
  13. I think it's a great pic - congrats on the biggun!
  14. Maybe this past weekend was the last hurrah.
  15. Fished from daylight until about noon. It was disappointingly slow, I though I had some things figured out from last time I was there, but they pulled the old switcheroo on me and left me buffaloed. I caught 3 bass, biggest was a 15.5 inch meanmouth. They did not want the Keitech at all today, caught one spot on it and the other 2 came on the Ned, and they didn't seem to want it too badly either. Fished deep, shallow and in between on locations that should be producing this time of year. Caught a striper that I didn't weight but might've gone 4 lbs. on a Keitech, and that fish was close to the bank. Fought pretty hard on the spinning gear.
  16. Here's what's on the Corps website: Special event or activity permits will not be issued; those permits that have already been granted will be considered for revocation based on the Center for Disease Control’s guidelines. So I interpret that to read that if a permit was issued prior, than a tourney could still be held unless the Corps revokes that permit. The State Patrol has Regatta permits issued for quite a few tourneys in April on TR. I am speculating that the tourney directors also applied for their Corps permits at the same time, so I bet there will still be more tourneys happening.
  17. Crappie may not be up on the banks quite yet. How big were the gills? Were you getting them on crappie jigs?
  18. Pretty much so, I don't fish mid to upper part of Beaver much anymore.
  19. Once it gets warm enough for the wake boats and all the other water lice, it could get ugly out there. This may be the year I take up basket weaving.
  20. I talked to somebody that said the Eagle Rock lot had a BUNCH of rigs.
  21. Last I heard it was still out off the bank and sideways.
  22. Yes, I haven't seen the whole thing, have about 15 minutes to go, but it was high, I think they said about 6 feet. It was up a lot more earlier that year so it had come down quite a bit. Fishing was decent for an early fall fishery, they aren't catching a lot of bass, but some decent quality, couple of 4 lbers. Largemouth and spots, haven't seen a smallmouth yet.
  23. Some slime in places, but it wasn't but an occasional annoyance.
  24. Yeah another thing that peeves me is this arbitrary assignment of dates when things MIGHT reopen. Covid isn't going away anytime soon, it's not going to miraculously disappear by say May 15 s an example. We need some benchmarks on when it will be OK to reopen things so that people can plan for when to get back to work or school.
  25. 12" bass are pretty tasty, no need to feel guilty about keeping some if they are overrunning a lake.
