  1. OK time to get it together regarding food. Anybody bringing fish, are we going to have a fish fry? I believe Rick is providing food for one breakfast, well based on the time he rolls out of bed, it might better be called brunch. πŸ˜ƒ I can sign up for the plates/cups/plastic ware, and paper towels.
  2. OK, well time to start getting finalized - above is the list of attendees I have so far, at about 11, which maxes us out in the lodge I would say. Time to start the food thread.
  3. Yeah I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery.
  4. That's pretty cool, it's interesting to hear of places where breeding populations of trout have established themselves. Pretty neat to hear there are some bigguns in there too. There's some pretty realistic soft plastic sculpin swimbaits out there, don't know if they'd work for trout, but you'd think they would.
  5. It didn't say, usually they fish with tackle reps from one of their sponsors.
  6. When I first started at about 9 AM, there was some scattered activity. I caught the only jerkbait fish by being close enough to one of those surfacers to get that bait on him and he ate it. Once the sun came out the top water activity stopped. Saw a dying shad and some slow moving shad, I am wondering if this next cold front coming through will get a shad kill going.
  7. Tackle Warehouse group is up if anyone wants to join.
  8. Saw in the channel guide that there is a show airing tomorrow AM where they are fishing Stockton. Outdoor channel. Not my favorite show, but since they are on a local lake I'll probably watch it. Anyway, wanted to give you guys a heads up.
  9. January is almost done, can't wait for February and March to get here. I fished from 0900 to 3 PM. Didn't cover a whole lot of ground, I found fish on a long rocky runout with timber and stayed there for a while, it was my best spot and produced 10 bass, all on the ned except one on a Pointer 78. Picked up a bass here and there on some rocky points on the Ned, finished the day with 17 bass. Most of them were in 10-20 FOW. I was fishing the Ned really slow, dragging it on the bottom. I had several fish follow it right to the boat and I'd see them on the transducer on the bottom straight down. I think I caught 4 or 5 just jiggling the Ned right off the bottom under the ducer when they'd show up. I'm convinced those bass were following it to the boat and wouldn't eat it until it was wiggled in their face. Very little wind today which certainly helps fishing that Ned really slow. Wt was 42 when I started, 44 when I left. Water is still stained green.
  10. Man, those are some good ones!
  11. I saw a Bill Dance fishing show a few years ago where they were fishing the White with Rebel crank baits. They caught several big rainbows, 6-8 lb. range. They looked like hatchery brood stock fish that had been recently stocked. Good timing on their part.
  12. Haven't tried a bell sinker, but I will look into it.
  13. Used to grill salmon steaks using one of those deals like you have that duck in. Baste it with melted butter, very tasty.
  14. Something I have been playing around with a bit are internal tube weights, like these from Phenix. You insert the weight into the head of the tubes, run the point of the hook through the hole in the weight, then Texas rig it. I have fished tubes quite a bit with a worm weight, Texas rigging it - it will certainly catch fish but that external weight will get a lot of snags in typical TR cover of rock and wood. Internal weights are a lot less snaggy. If one weight is too light, you can put two of them together and insert them into the tube. It's a little bit fiddly to get the two holes to line up, but doable. It's one of those things you want to rig up before you get out on the lake. Here's a link to the weights, GYCB also makes them. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Phenix_Tubebait_Gliders_10pk/descpage-PTG.html
  15. Tell that to the Billethead. πŸ˜„
  16. I'll save them the trouble - you owe me 5 Megabass 110's. Just kidding πŸ˜ƒ
  17. Yep, you can change, actually you must set up a new lineup before each tourney, it doesn't carry over to the next one. St. Johns in the 1st.
  18. Rps is being modest, he's certainly caught more walleye and 5 lb topwater bass than I ever will. And Jared, if you ever have any walleye questions PM rps, he'll get you on the right path.
  19. Welcome Jared, hope you do well in 2019 and looking forward to hearing about your fishing exploits!
  20. Once Abkeenan get us set up, you can click on the "Groups" tag and select "Join a Group", enter our group name (to be supplied by AB) and the PWD and you'll be in. You can also join other groups, Tackle Warehouse usually has a group, if you join them you'll be competing in that group also. You select your anglers one time and it's posted to any other groups you are in.
  21. I was at Big M last Friday, as I pulled out a guy in a COE truck pulled up and adjusted the dock, you should be good to go. FYI - The COE falls under the Dept. of Defense and are funded.
  22. He should read this: https://tpwd.texas.gov/publications/pwdpubs/media/pwd_rp_t3200_1699.pdf
  23. I don' think the Rams have many fans in LA either, when the Cowboys played them, there looked to be more Cowboy fans in the stands than Ram fans.
