  1. GoPros instead of a cameraman. All the big boat pro tours are about pushing product as much as competition. BASS live and FLW live have their commercials too.
  2. Nope they don't fish out of kayaks or allow them in these tourneys. But there are kayak only tourneys where they don't allow bass boats. And those kayaks have all kinds of electronics also, depth finders, little power poles, electric motors, etc.,
  3. Jut watched it. The guide sure seemed to be amped up, talking a mile a minute, he had good info but it came at you pretty fast. Surprised to see Cherry Creek is such a good walleye lake, it is right on the outskirts of Denver. Not much else close by, it has to get hammered.
  4. Electronics not much of a factor in this tourney. Shallow Florida stuff.
  5. Well good luck my friend and I agree, getting older catches up on us.
  6. Well you guys got me to look at the Regatta page - it's a 6 day event, 40 boats per (well I did not check the number on the last day), that tells me it's a BPT event, not one of the cups.
  7. There are some guys that wouldn't be fishing any differently if it was a big 5 tourney, Ish and Sporher (dunno if I spelled that right) being two of them. I've watched a lot of "Big 5" live coverage that can be pretty boring too. That drop shot fest on the MO river in South Dakota probably being the most boring one I've ever watched, not that I stayed with it long. To me it has a lot to do with what lake they are fishing and the techniques rather than what they are targeting.
  8. Drowning is a bad way to go, I'll do my best to avoid it.
  9. I know there is a wallie fisherman or two on here and looking through the channel guide today I see that the Jarrett Edwards fishing show is about the Slow Death rig, that's all the description has, but I have watched his show before and he does a good job and always walks though how he has things rigged. I think it starts at 1030 AM (Sportsman channel), and I'm sure there will be reruns.
  10. I wear my life vest, usually will have the kill switch hooked up (If I remember to hook it up), and putt around the lake like a cranky old man. Why not have it all?
  11. And BH, we are glad you are still here with us. I think at least 50% of the drownings on Beaver lake I hear of on the news or read about, are young people that either swim from the shore or jump in off a boat. Hard to know what exactly happens to them because if someone sees them when they drown, the story is they saw them struggling, then they went under and never came up. Sad deal when it happens.
  12. Heck stock some in Table Rock, see if they survive. If they do, with all the shad present, could be some big stinking browns.
  13. I always wear mine on the water, but haven't walked into a restaurant with one on (yet). Reminded me of this scene from Back to the Future:
  14. It looks to be around 11 or so.
  15. It was so bad they had me laughing. Looked to be a decent top water bite, but it was hard to tell as most of the time when they had a fish on they'd only show it when they were swinging it into the boat. I don't recall them saying one word about what the lures were so I have to assume it wasn't one of their sponsors products.
  16. That is cold for a cottonmouth to be out. No wonder it was mad.
  17. Way to go Lance! Sunday was a nice day, wish we could get a week of weather like that.
  18. OK time to get it together regarding food. Anybody bringing fish, are we going to have a fish fry? I believe Rick is providing food for one breakfast, well based on the time he rolls out of bed, it might better be called brunch. 😃 I can sign up for the plates/cups/plastic ware, and paper towels.
  19. OK, well time to start getting finalized - above is the list of attendees I have so far, at about 11, which maxes us out in the lodge I would say. Time to start the food thread.
  20. Yeah I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery.
  21. That's pretty cool, it's interesting to hear of places where breeding populations of trout have established themselves. Pretty neat to hear there are some bigguns in there too. There's some pretty realistic soft plastic sculpin swimbaits out there, don't know if they'd work for trout, but you'd think they would.
  22. It didn't say, usually they fish with tackle reps from one of their sponsors.
  23. When I first started at about 9 AM, there was some scattered activity. I caught the only jerkbait fish by being close enough to one of those surfacers to get that bait on him and he ate it. Once the sun came out the top water activity stopped. Saw a dying shad and some slow moving shad, I am wondering if this next cold front coming through will get a shad kill going.
  24. Tackle Warehouse group is up if anyone wants to join.
  25. Saw in the channel guide that there is a show airing tomorrow AM where they are fishing Stockton. Outdoor channel. Not my favorite show, but since they are on a local lake I'll probably watch it. Anyway, wanted to give you guys a heads up.
