  1. I was living in Washington when the movie came out, definitely an uptick in fly fishing afterwards. A lot of those newcomers found out that fly fishing is very tough to learn if you have little to no fishing experience and decide to jump right into fly fishing for trout.
  2. Never looked at the liver or any of the rabbit innards for that matter. Did the deal where you squeeze them from about the front shoulder, work your way about halfway down the bunny and the give them a whipcrack move. The guts fly out. If I could turn my clock back about 30 years, I would seriously consider getting a beagle or two.
  3. Not big, 10-15 inches.
  4. Sorry to hear about the pneumonia. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  5. Fished it once about 25 years ago with my dad, we caught smallmouth wade fishing. It does get a lot of traffic in the summer.
  6. Good to see the moving baits working!
  7. They seem to disappear this time of year. I don't target them, but I usually don't start picking them up while bass fishing until March or so.
  8. I usually won't fish on Saturdays, but in the cold part of the year I will. Very few boats out there yesterday, but that may not be the case for other parts of the lake. I caught 15 spots, no LM and one 5" smallie. Ned rig was working on fish in the 10-20 foot depths and I got a few on a 3.3 Keitech fishing deep in the 30-50 foot deep areas. I'm not finding any big schools of bass anywhere, I'm sure they are out there, but I have not run across them. WT around 55.
  9. I thought the CO Pikeminnow was interesting, grows up to 6 feet long, that's one big minnow!
  10. Always thought it was dark down there. This spring I was catching spots that were down 50 feet or so in somewhat low viz water, had to be just about completely dark where those fish were.
  11. Kokanee and burbot too, dunno if you have either of those. I believe there are some unusual fish in the Green river above the reservoir too. I've seen the Green river when I visited Dinosaur Nat. Monument, looked to be plenty of access and since that section has no trout probably gets zero pressure. Fish - Dinosaur National Monument (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
  12. That is a fish you don't see everyday. Caught a lake trout yet? Just read an article where they say Flaming Gorge reservoir has too many of them.
  13. I was going to ask you about that yesterday, completely forgot.
  14. One word - Peacocks. I hold grudges against those things.
  15. The Hogville.net forum has some funny stuff today. Need to brace yourselves for more digging in his ear while constantly mumbling "things of that nature"
  16. Hoop Hogs lost to NC after the Memphis loss, after watching a couple of games I see a team with talent, but they look lost on offense. Lot of athletes, but no shooters, you have to have 3 point shooters in the game today. A lot of new faces and I believe they will come around later this year after playing together for a while. Feels like last year all over again. I agree on the cord cutting with Pittman, and I also agree that why would any top recruit come to AR to play under Pittman next year? Pittman has a good reputation as a recruiter, that was supposed to be his strength, but I see him as being an old school recruiter and will have trouble in the NIL world of recruiting. They have to et an OC too, I can't see Guiton getting that job after yesterday. Maybe the strategy will be to bring in a new OC and groom him for the HC job. With TX and OK coming to the SEC, things are not going to get easier.
  17. Arkansas couldn't even win the fight, they had 2 players ejected, MO only one. There's no light at the end of the tunnel.
  18. Yeah they're everywhere now. Even showing up in people's houses for crying out loud.
  19. That's pretty neat, I have shot a lot of birds, but never a woodcock.
  20. Well I will record the game, that way if Arkansas is getting blown out I can FF through it. They are keeping Pittman, and as far as I can tell by reading and listening to various AR people, it seems to be a money move, if they dump Pittman they have to pay whatever it is they owe him on the contract plus sign a new coach to some big contract as you aren't going to get anyone to come here without a big guaranteed contract. I never got the impression that they wanted to keep Pittman because they think he can win next year. And Pittman himself gave an interview where he hinted that AR is not committing enough money to NIL which makes it tough to recruit. You can't help but think that next year the Hogs are going to be another doormat to the rest of the SEC. I have moved on the hoops now, AR beat Stanford yesterday and today play the other Tigers, the ones from Memphis.
  21. Thanks, and may you also have a great Thanksgiving!
  22. Where's DJ at? That guy hunts those things at night. @JestersHK You can hunt them with dogs, I'm way too old to think about doing that, but that would be a fun hunt.
  23. Memorable catch rivals record-book brookie • Arkansas Game & Fish Commission (agfc.com)
  24. Looks like a woodcock. They migrate through here in the fall, there are people that hunt them. It is something like a 2 week window before they are gone. To get one in your house is pretty wild.
  25. Way to go, love the lasso pics!
