  1. Good question, I could see this being something you could market to bass fishermen also, I've watched many a tourney on TV where those guys are measuring bass.
  2. Read in the paper today that starting in 2014, there will be no minimum size limit for spotted bass in Beaver lake.
  3. Welcome! There's a forum for the Illinois, looks like some helpful posters that monitor that forum, I'm sure that if you post your questions there you'll get some good advice. http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/forum/142-upper-and-lower-illinois-river-ok/
  4. The Royals are in a bit of a slump, lost 2 out of 3 to the Marlins and got beat 4-1 by the Tigers last night. All of a sudden they can't score runs.
  5. Yeah I agree it's not easy, we covered a lot of water, fished quite a few different baits. The fish that bite aren't hammering it either, didn't have much of a problem with fish swallowing baits, most were lip hooked. Lots of 1 inch shad and they are everywhere from the backs of the coves out onto the main lake, but mostly close to the bank. You'd think the bass would be feeding on those shad, but we didn't see much surface activity at all besides gar and carp flopping around. I'll bet if there's a tournament this weekend that has some good local sticks, someone will bag a 15 - 20 lb. limit. Seems like there's always some guys that can get a big sack, and I tip my hat to them.
  6. I've had good luck with the plug knocker on jerkbaits, I spooled the line that comes with the plug knocker to an old Penn 310, and mounted it on a stout halibut rod that I cut down to the first eyelet.
  7. Good point, get the hook out, then measure.
  8. Glad to see you come back and defend your product, but to see it in action will be good. Until then I'll stick with my plastic POS, works well unless you're an uncoordinated dork.
  9. My fishing buddy Jeb is back in town, so we decided to give the White channel a shot again today. Best bite was on the deep end of points, anywhere from 15 to 30 FOW. Drop shotting Finesse worms and c-rigging Speed craws were the best baits. We got somewhere around 25 for the morning, maybe half dozen keepers, nothing over 2 lbs. Mostly spots. Had to fish a lot of points the fish were scattered and we'd pick up a few off each point, didn't see many schooling fish on the finder. Fished some bushes and chunk rock banks, could not get anything going on that kind of stuff. Water temp 80.
  10. Love those GSP's, she could pass for my dogs sister, except mine has a brown tail. I've thought about getting a 2nd dog, but not right now.
  11. White has worked for me in very stained water. But usually silver/brass.
  12. 10 seconds is about the most I can take.
  13. Having Megabass baits in your tacklebox will cost justify getting a plug knocker if you don't already have one.
  14. Budget? I am not familiar with that word.
  15. Yep, Texas rig.
  16. Pheasants cackling in a cornfield.
  17. Well you guys got me all fired up to fish the bushes, so I did for quite a while and didn't have much luck doing that. caught a couple of keepers, one on a spinner bait and another on a creature, also caught a couple of shorts on a Trick worm. Just could not find a consistent bite doing that. Got another 4 bass early on the Ol' Monster on a gravel point, decent keeper sized fish but nothing big. Big fish of the day was an 18" 3 lb. smallie that came on a tube. Did just a little deep jigging, only one Kentuck fell for that, but there could be a deep bite out there, I didn't give it a chance today. Stayed in the bushes for the most part. Water is a bit colored up the White arm, 4 feet or so of Viz. Water temp 80-81. Very few fishermen out today and not that many wake boats either.
  18. Shut out in extra innings yesterday, shame of it is, just about every team in front of them in the wild card race lost also, ugh....
  19. That does look tasty.
  20. And it just happens to be a male and a female.
  21. Yep that's a good point, the pro leagues in the US, NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL all have, for the most part, the best players in those sports in the world playing in those leagues. Watching an MLS game, it feels like your not seeing the best players, going to be hard to get a popular, well attended soccer league here in the US unless it has the best players in the world playing in it.
  22. Seems like the fish have been vaporizing lately, at least while I'm on the lake.
  23. Very scenic shot.

    Chiefs

Yes he did appeared burnt out, I was worried that would carry over to the Chiefs job, but it seems not.
  25. You aren't kidding, I have not caught a 4.25 smallie around here. I know they exist in Table Rock, but I haven't gotten one yet.
