  1. Once i get back out on the water (hopefully in a couple of weeks) I plan on throwing some around. Reports are that people are getting some fish on cranks.
  2. Welcome!
  3. Wow, I've seen some that would go 1.5 lbs, which are huge, but over 5 lbs. is amazing. Looks as if he probably kept it, which is his right, but it looks healthy and it makes me wonder if released how much more growth potential there was.
  4. Just finished reading Fields of Blood, The Prairie Grove Campaign - Written by William L. Shea, University of AR history professor. He also co-authored a book about the Pea Ridge campaign which I have read. Good books both of them. Shea does a good job of profiling the personalities involved both military and civilian and describing events leading up to the battles. Even though there are maps in the book, it helps to have a detailed map available to follow troop movements.
  5. First half was good. At least you Mizzou fans can console yourselves with the fact that you lost to a good football team. We won't talk about what happened to the so called "football team" that wears the Arkansas uniform.
  6. Yep, just a lot of speeches with zero content.
  7. Circumstantial evidence has put quite a few mobsters away. Those guys are good at making people disappear.
  8. One of the few games on the TV slate today worth watching, most games today are big school vs little school. As far as I'm concerned, Arkansas' season doesn't begin until next Saturday.
  9. I'll sell you one..
  10. That's good to hear that everything is on the up and up as far as no government sweetners to get Cabelas to open a store here. I remember a few years ago when AR was competing with several southern states to get an auto manufacturing facility (I think it was Toyota), the giveaways wee ridiculous, whatever state got that plant, may have been South Carolina, ended up paying the manufacturer to locate there.
  11. I'm already in a league and one is about all I want to handle. Our league has been together for abut 20 years now. In the beginning, used to have to get the paper, read the box scores, enter in the scores for the players. Now it's all automatic with live scoring, on the internet, and that's a good thing.
  12. Yeah our trail by jury system can make mistakes, OJ comes to mind. But I'm with Ness, 4 dead wives? The guy is a cold blooded pyschopathic killer (so says my gut). But to feel 100% about that, I'd have to have been on the jury.
  13. I was thinking exactly what Champ says. I'm hoping for a good jerkbait bite this winter also, if the A-rigs don't get them all.
  14. Good for you, that's pretty good this time of year, especially on the fly rod.
  15. I'm not going to defend Cabelas pricing, it is high, but sometimes in the Bargain Cave (online or at the store) you can get some pretty good deals. And if you're looking for jigging spoons, the Real Image spoons will catch bass and walleye and the price is right.

Cool, looking forward to your fishing reports. Vizlas are neat dogs, you going to bird hunt with it?

I have not been over to Brittany in a while. I would be surprised if they made it through the summer.
  18. Excellent! Nine less honkers in the world is a good thing.
  19. 3/4" here in Bella Vista, I was hoping for another inch or two, lakes are down a foot or more and we needed something that would get the creeks flowing. Didn't get enough.
  20. Yep Bill, it's a good thing. I'm not an eye fisherman, but maybe some day I'll move over to the "dark side" and give them a shot. Nice to know they are out there. I'd like to see them fin clip or mark the hatchery eyes just to see what percentage of fish harvested come from the hatchery. I'm sure, like you're saying it's a high percentage.
  21. AGFC released around 64,000 walleye fingerlings into TR this spring. Another 175,000 were released into Beaver. They were from the Charlie Craig hatchery in Centerton AR. I believe they get all their broodstock from the White river. Might get some from the James also.
  22. Maybe 1/2 inch here in my corner of NW AR. Just a drizzle falling right now.
  23. I was expecting pics of the bass But, those are some nice eyes!
  24. Glad to hear they have a good sized fishing department. I'll probably stop by when all the hubbub dies down.
  25. Yep I would expect a lot of jerkbait action. And the weather, who knows that time of year? Could be snow, could be 60 degrees and sunny, or somewhere in between.
