  1. Come on Gonefishin, if you catch a funny looking speckeled bluegill you gotta post a picture so we can argue about what it is
  2. Glad to hear you had a good day, I gotta start fishing for those things myself. How do you keep your black saltys alive at home?
  3. That is a good one! Quite a surprise I'm sure when you're fishing for bluegills.
  4. Great pics, good story. Hopefully no one eats any of the fish they catch in that stream. Which poses a question: If you eat the fish do you get a "black tail"?
  5. Interesting, I see they sell them in Rogers.
  6. Seems to be mostly pay to play in this corner of Arkansas. Not worth it ot me.

  8. Cool, glad to hear you found the problem.
  9. Something you can try, if you have not already - this sounds like a permissions issue, virus or whatever reset permissions so that you're denied access. Right click on start, select explore, you'll see a list of of folders, right click on the program files folder and select security, you'll see a list of users, select the user that is you ands make sure that full control is checked, then hit the advanced tab and check the propogate to child objects is checked so that will give full control to all folders under program files. If you don't have full control then this virus or whatever is changing permissions, also check your other folders. Anyway just something to check, hard to troubleshoot things via message boards.
  10. Have you done any virus scans lately?
  11. I view owning gold as a form of insurance in case of run away inflation, or an economic disaster. But as far as a money making investment, I would stay with the stock market. If you think gold is due for a rise you can also play it by buying stock in gold mining companies, and I believe you can find mutual funds that are targeted towards the gold mining industry.
  12. I also scored Libertarian leaning consevative. I do think they need to work on some of their questions, for example there was one asking if the death penalty should be applied to all convicted murderers. So, first degree, second degree? I favor the death penalty in certain cases depending on the circumstances. But the question was should all convicted murderers get the death penalty or life in prison? Not much nuance there.
  13. I haven't used Microsoft's new Vista OS myself, but it's supposed to be better than the older MS OS's for use with graphics and videos. I would certainly check it out before buying a MAC. Wally World had some Gateways loaded with Vista for about $700 last week, I almost picked one up just for the heck of it.

    Homemade salsa

You can buy one online for $13.99. Google Kitchen 2000. I might get one, if my tomatoes survive this heat wave.
  15. Thanks for the tips. Also thanks for the fishing reports, I'm taking the 2nd week of October off and may make it up there for some fishing.
  16. The company I work for has openings right now, but you must be willing to travel and live near an airport. Good understanding of networks, and Window's OS is needed. Basically we install a client server app at a customer location, test the app, train the customer in it's use, then leave. Some things that would also work in an applicants favor would be a good knowledge of SQL. In our near future we'll be working with Microsoft Expressions, Silverlight, Windows Presentation Foundation, XAML, etc., anyone with a good knowledge of these products would have a definite leg up. It's a great job if you don't mind about 50% travel, sometimes we go out to a customer site, but there are also installs we do remotely (you work at home).
  17. I used it for winter steelhead fishing, what I liked about it is that due to low stretch it's much more sensitive making it easier to detect the light pickup of a steelhead bite. But you have to be careful and not wrap it around rod tips, or body parts and start yanking because it can break rods, cause cuts very easily.
  18. The guy in the first pic, I know him, he's a member of steelheader.net.
  19. I read something about Leaping Sturgeon, a bio speculated that they were leaping to let other sturgeon know that they had a good spot to hang out, good food, deep water, whatever. The theory being that the loud splashes would bring in other sturgeon. Kind of like one of us finding a good burger joint and calling our friends using the cell to let them know. But it's just a theory..
  20. All I can say is that I hope they migrate OUT of my neck of the woods. Some place far, South Dakota for instance.
  21. Thanks for the info guys, I may take a drive over there this evening and check it out.
  22. Can anybody recommend some areas to fish for cats from shore? I am thinking of heading over to Grand one of thse evenings.
  23. Now that I think about it, I should have taken a picture, with the fish next to a ruler, then say for example, when we're out fishing again and my neighbor says something along the lines of "Remember that 16 inch Redear I caught last summer?", I could whip out the picture and bring him back to reality.
