  1. Great pics and good to see it is running clean.
  2. And get the Wake Snake. For a mere $89.99, this beauty could be in your tackle box.
  3. Hey Albion - I know that Bill Babler had some pretty good posts in the past in the Table Rock forum on how to do drop-shotting. You'll have to do some searching to find them, I think they were written 2 -3 years ago. They will tell you every thing you need to know to get a good start. I haven't fished a drop shot yet this year, but I am thinking it may be time to give it a try.
  4. No doubt there is a good deal of pressure. Just based on my own observation, I've seen more boats on the lake this year than recent past years. And I fish primarily during the week. All the public lakes in this area receive a great deal of pressure, bass fishing is a big deal around here. I don't think it's going to hurt the overall bass population too much if some bass are harvested, but if all of us who fish for bass started filleting every legal fish we caught, we'd have a lake full of short fish.
  5. Just to set the record straight, I was joking around when I posted that.
  6. I would like to see a slot limit for Kentucks. Keep range being in the 12-14" length. Takes them 6-7 years to reach 15", seems a shame to keep them when they get that size. Little ones taste better also IMO.
  7. Yep, it is a Havana. Real nice slow walk-the-dog action. Almost does a 180 on every twitch. Go too fast and it doesn't walk as well.
  8. Seems to be more this year for whatever reason.
  9. First picture is the Mean. 2nd is a spot.
  10. I don't have much good to say. There was a good, but brief top water bite early, caught a few on a Yellow magic. Then it got tough. Fished until 12:30 PM for 5 more bass. Ended up with a whopping total of eight. Threw a lot of stuff, fished bushes and fished deep. It just was not happening. Water temp went from 75 to 78 when I left. Water still stained. But, I did get another Babler Slam.

  12. Yep, thanks for the report Bo. I was wondering how the night fishing was. Makes me think that right now night is the time to be out there.
  13. Good stuff, thanks for sharing!
  14. Lost Bridge Marina, looks like they have slips starting at $9.00/day. http://www.lostbridgemarina.com/
  15. Yeah 24, the fish did seem to start biting better in the afternoon, but I'm only good for about 7-8 hours of fishing at the most. Throw in an hour to the lake, and an hour back and it all adds up to a full day. I'm not much of a believer in solunar tables, spent some time in the past comparing bites in the day to the tables and have never seen much correlation. I'm inclined to believe that the breeze picking up was what got them going. But, I could be wrong.
  16. That clear box deal is great for fish pics. Nice brown!
  17. I did talk to a gentleman who fishes Eagle Rock to Big M quite a bit at the ramp as we were leaving. He has caught some on a spook in deep water over trees. But that seems to be the exception. Just not seeing any widespread top water activity like you would expect to see this time of year. I bet you're right about the water color.
  18. Fished with fellow board member Muddy Water today. We launched at 0515 and were done at 1 PM. Had a little bit of a morning bite off a gravel point, but not as good as I was hoping for. Couple of swipes at top waters, but none of them as much as touched our lures. Started grinding it out after that, fishing inside coves, chunk rock banks and points. By about noon we had maybe 15 bass total. Best baits were jigs and creature on a wobble head. Also picked up a few on an Ol' Monster, Ned and spinner bait. About noon the sun finally came out, the wind picked up and we found a chunk rock bank, with a big old MDC brushpile lays here sign. Picked up 8 or 10 on that bank, all Ned fish. Don't know if it was because of the weather change or we finally stumbled upon some, but we had some decent fishing there for a bit. Of course this bite started about an hour before it was time to go. We ended up with a couple of dozen bass, couple of good 17-18" smallies, a Mean that was just a bit shorter than the smalls (which qualified us for the Babler slam), one 16" spot and several LM's that were on that keeper borderline. Water is murky, kind of a greenish brown, can see bottom in about 3-4 FOW. Temp 72-73.
  19. Good luck, I want to make it down there one of these days myself.
  20. Combined age of 115 - well we know Donna is only 25.
  21. Will do. I have a silver/black Phoenix, same goes if you see me.
  22. Were you driving a white SUV/Crossover type vehicle? I was getting my exercise in walking the Windsor dam and saw someone pulling out about 1 PM or so. I haven't fished Brittany in a couple of years, but I used to do OK, once the water got warm, fishing a jig in 10-20 FOW. I'd parallel my boat to the bank, keep the bow in that depth range, and throw in front of the boat, let the jig hit bottom and drag, hop it back. Windsor has been fishing a little tough this year as far as numbers, but pretty good average size.
  23. Elaztech won't deform the plastic in the 3700 boxes. BUT, it will deform other plastic baits if left in contact with them.
  24. Congrats to you and the missus! As far as the hopper bite, I have no idea. Seems like they become a plague in the garden in July and especially August.
