  1. Fished out of my buddy Jeb's boat today. Fish wanted to bite early today, in the freezing fog. Later in the morning, into the afternoon, it started getting slow, and we were off the water at 1:30 PM. We caught between 25-30, 4 or 5 in the keeper sized range. Most fish came on a 3/16 finesse jig, shakey head, and Rock Crawler. Got a couple on the drop shot also. Best quality came on the Crawler. Nothing big enough to warrant a trip to the taxidermist. Water temps were 51-53, water is still a dingy green color.
  2. Little Sugar here in Bella Vista flows north.
  3. I'll have to save my empties, I make it up to Springfield about once in a blue moon. DOMO-online has a 5 gallon case on sale for $137 which works out to about $27 per gallon, but they spank you with $30 shipping. Still cheaper than I can get it locally (that I know of), and it's delivered to my front door.
  4. That is a good price, I wish it was local to me.
  5. If it's blowing at Table rock like it is blowing here in Bella Vista, Champ won't have to worry about making long casts, just toss that spinner bait up in the air and the wind will probably blow it 50 yards down the bank.
  6. Couple of nice ones, and that spot looks pretty good sized also.
  7. Well at least you got out, dang wind kept me at home today, and will tomorrow.
  8. That fish is a TANK!
  9. Thanks for the report, it was a tad windy yesterday, went out and walked the dog this morning and there is a pretty good breeze blowing here today already.
  10. Water is a little more stained than it was before the rain and cold, I'd say about 3 feet of visibility and a sort of greenish brown color.
  11. Not bad for Table Rock crappie fishing.
  12. Saw a few eagles today, bright blue skies and a bit breezy. Didn't turn on the depth finder today as I stayed shallow, so I don't know what the water temp was, but I bet low 50's. If you like fishing the Ned, they are biting it. Caught 30 Ned fish today, mostly small males, but did get one about 3 lbs. on the Ned. Most of the fish came from secondary points inside coves, the boys are back there schooled up and waiting to move on the beds. Catch one and you'll want to work that spot hard because there will probably be more. Caught another 5 on the Rock Crawler, I think 3 of them would have been keepers. Eagle in the nest. A couple of the usual suspects:
  13. Come down lake around Big M - tie on a Ned or Rock Crawler.
  14. Ketchup, you could launch at the big public ramp which is right outside of Grove. To the mouth of the Elk from there you'd have about a 5-7 mile run. I heard that it took Edwin a 1/2 hour to get to his spot from Grove. I also heard that Edwin damaged his prop on the last day up there, so watch out, lots of wood up there and it is shallow - I have not been up there myself, BTW. This resort is on the lower Elk, they say they have a ramp you can launch at for $5. I'd call them to verify, but it would save you some time if you can launch there. http://www.bluebluffharbor.com/ Personally, I would not go fish that spot, it is going to get hammered, plenty of other places to fish on the main lake.
  15. Bill you've just got to write a book one of these days. I was watching the live feed yesterday for a bit, Clunn was a machine, constantly throwing that chatterbait, soon as he pulled it out of the water, her fired off another cast. If you're 69 years old, it ain't easy to do that for 4 straight days. He's in great shape for his age.
  16. Catching those smallies will warm you up. Look at the tail on that one, I bet it was a hard fighter.
  17. Welcome!
  18. Nice one Cal!
  19. Yes indeed, I'm sure he really wants this one.
  20. He just put one in the boat that looked to be around 5 lbs. You could see his hands shaking after he put it in the live well and adjusted his bait.
  21. Wow, great fish!

    Madness

How about that UALR beating Purdue? Now they get to play Iowa State. Lots of upsets so far.
  23. Welcome to the site! I don't fish Taney so I can't give you any help on where to wade, but there is a Taney forum on the forums page where you'll probably get some help there on where to wade.
  24. Another vote for Spring Craw, and Green Craw.
