  1. Sounds like some great fishing, thanks for the report!
  2. I was thinking of going tomorrow, but I might just save my gas money for when it warms up again.
  3. Good tip.
  4. Probably the citric acid in the Dew that made them go nuts, fish are very sensitive to it.
  5. Yeah that wind was a booger yesterday, it's been hard to get away from it this spring. Weather guesser last night was saying there's a potential for a light frost tomorrow AM. Sheesh...
  6. Excellent! Glad to see you got into them.
  7. Love those big gills, great to see you and the boys had a good day!
  8. I fish them in the post-spawn into summer. various watermelon colors are my mainstay along with green pumpkin, but under low light conditions I'll throw black or black red flake. I usually T-rig them and fish them on steep chunk rock banks. But they worked c-rigged and on wobble-heads. I don't do much shaky heading, but I'm sure they'll work on a shaky head.
  9. Thanks for the report!
  10. Good deal, I love it when the top water bite gets going.
  11. Thanks for the report. makes me think I might need to do some split-shotting. So many techniques are working right now.
  12. Yep, that boy is having fun! Good job Brett.
  13. I find typing "Ned Rig" is a lot easier than typing "Half a 6" Senko type bait super glued to a 1/16 oz mushroom head jig with a weed guard". But, that being said, we need to think of a more regional name, kind of like Carolina rig, Alabama rig or Texas rig. Some suggestions: Kansas rig Missouri rig Ozark rig Rock rig
  14. When I lived in Massachusetts I used to fish them early in the spring, and catch bass on them, but haven't done it down here. But I agree, should be worth a shot.
  15. 14 keeper crappie is a good haul for the Rock.
  16. Dang Fishingaddiction, that sounds painful! Glad to hear you'll have the stitches out soon.
  17. Yep that would be a great idea. Or have a pre-season "Ozark" tournament - SLU, AR, Mizzou, Wichita State, Kansas, Memphis - be one heck of a tourney. It'll never happen of course. but there is so much that could be done to improve college basketball schedules if they used their imaginations, and changed some of the NCAA scheduling rules.
  18. Wow, that's an impressive load of good eats!
  19. I don't work anymore There were a lot of boats out there today, but last Friday there were even more, I believe. Wake boats and cruisers are starting to make their appearance also.
  20. It was definitely slower today, especially early.
  21. Got out fishing with my buddy Jeb today, Jeb has been busy with commitments and is still recovering from a broken collarbone, but sling and all, he was fishing today. Funny thing is, he's right handed, it's his right collarbone that is broken, so he was casting with his left arm, and he was in the back of the boat - but in spite of all that, he nearly caught as many bass as I did. Anyway, fishing was much slower today than it was before this front came in. Early morning was especially tough, but later in the morning the sunny banks with some breeze on them put out some fish. We did OK, caught 50 or so between the two of us, fairly small fish, maybe 8 -9 keepers total. 6" Zoom lizards worked best, whether on the wobble head, t-rigged or c-rigged. Caught a few on the jig, but they just were not eating it like they were before. A few on the Ned also. Saw some beds with males on them. Water temps were 59 early to 64 in the afternoon.

    Baseball!

I watched the Yanks/Sox game last night (and will watch tonight also), Pineda, coming out in the 2nd inning to pitch with that 6" streak of pine tar on the side of his neck was some funny stuff. I can't figure out what he was thinking, maybe he wanted to get tossed?
  23. Some nice quality fish, Bill is really on them. It's amazing to me, considering the pressure that these fish have been under the last couple of weeks, that they are keeping up this bite. it seems that every day the banks reload with bass.
  24. Excellent - glad to see you guys are whacking them! Beautiful day to be on the water, wish I was out there today.
