  1. Good deal!
  2. Just read "The Last Stand" - Custer, Sitting Bull, and the battle of the Little Bighorn. Nathaniel Philbrick. A good read, much more than a blow by blow account of the battle, quite a bit of biographical information on the participants and their families.
  3. Cool, looking forward to your report.
  4. I'm also happy with my Fortrex and the lift assist. Never have owned a Motor Guide, but it sounds like they are just as good.
  5. I'll take some 2-3 lbers on top. Glad to see you got into some, maybe with the forecast for cooler weather next week the top water bite will continue.
  6. But the Royals won.
  7. Tazawa blew it last night. It didn't help that Lester only went 6 innings, throwing 110 pitches.
  8. Yep, and I wonder if anything is up with Pedroia, as in if he's playing with an injury like last year.
  9. Red Sox in a bit of a tail spin, makes me wonder if they'll make any moves before the trade deadline.
  10. I hate squash bugs...
  11. I was impressed by the gut on that fish, if it can survive a couple of years, it's going to be a biggun.
  12. Next week, probably.
  13. Spent a couple of hours in the morning fishing structure and docks from 10 - 30 FOW, all for one 2.5 lb. LM on a Megabug. On the way back to Big M, stopped at the end of a long roll off (where I met Duck and his team), graphed some fish in the 20-30 range and saw some top water activity. Picked up half a dozen bass on a football jig, c-rigged UV Speed Craw, and several on a Rapala BX wake bait. Unfortunately got there a little late and the bite tailed off after an hour. Picked up a couple more out of a brush pile on a bluff end on the c-rigged Speed Craw, called it a day, and was on the trailer at 12:30 PM. 10 bass total with 3 keeps. Used the Rapala BX wake bait for the first time today. I like what I saw from it. It is heavy, weighs 3/4 oz, so it casts really well and is easy to throw on a bait caster (no helicoptering). It does a good job of waking, starts waking on the end of a long cast, much easier than getting a fin or Mikey to wake. Fish seemed to like it, when they hit it, they grabbed it, didn't have much of a problem with missing fish today. But I've only fished it one day, we'll see how it does going forward. Water temp 82.
  14. It was certainly nice to meet you and your friends and family out there Duck.
  15. Congrats!
  16. Tough little suckers!

    Wings Anyone?

    Looks tasty!
  18. That's a big channel cat. Interesting about the bass in the brush piles.
  19. Welcome!
  20. I like a slot limit also, takes 6 - 7 years for a spotted bass to get to 15", seems a shame to kill them. Plenty of 12" spots out there and they are much tastier than the bigger bass. Tournament guys probably don't like the slot limit idea, but it seems you could make an exception for tournament weigh ins as long as the fish were released alive. But then again, I can see enforcement issues with that.
  21. HAHA, I was thinking the same thing, but I'll probably go tomorrow morning.
