  1. I have the baits figured out, now I am focused on figuring out where they caught those fish. I rented some camera time on a Chinese "weather balloon" that was scheduled to float over Table Rock about the same time Bill & his buddy were fishing. Just waiting for the photos to download, I should have it figured out by this afternoon.
  2. Cold start to the day, Old Man Winter is hanging in there. Caught fish in the back of a couple of coves that had shad. Caught them on the 2.8 Keitech. Didn't catch a bunch, but had 5 solid keepers and 4 of them were largemouth. I typically don't catch many largemouth on this end of the lake, but today I found a few. They were chasing shad and some would come up on top, couldn't get bit with a top water, but they'd hit a Keitech if you go it on them quickly. Caught a couple of big white bass too. Did have some periods of no catching going down the bank, caught a few smallies doing that that were few and far between. WT 49-51
  3. A lot of wood out there, what a mess. The lake level is now dropping, the mystery is in how long the Corps will keep spilling water. Every summer/fall a lot of wood gets burned from property owners cleaning up the wood that floated in. Going to be some burning going on this year too. Might be a run on hot dogs and marshmallows in the local stores this summer. 😃
  4. Man what a tourney. No one left for me to root for. I bet there is not one person in the country that had these 4 teams in their final 4 bracket.
  5. Wow, that looks like one of those log rafts they used to float down the rivers in the old days.
  6. Wow, as usual, some great fish!
  7. Yeah, I really hate mystery fish. 😡 Could've been a drum, I catch one or two a year in that area, they typically really whack a lure. Sadly, I'll never know. @Johnsfolly
  8. Some great fish pics, keep them coming!
  9. That area has been tough. I know a good fisherman that has tried the back of the creek thing around there and it has not had much luck with it. I'm somewhat tied into the grapevine of some folks that fish that area, and no one is killing them. I have seen some pics of some nice fish being caught, but you've got to work for them and you won't get a lot of bites. With all that being said, there's probably someone spanking the bass in that area. Seems like someone always does.
  10. Today I was using braid with 10 lb. fluro leader. About 6 feet of leader.
  11. Gustafson won the Classic. I had him in my lineup but took him out at the last minute and put in Lester.
  12. When you don't get a lot of bites, it makes for a short report. I caught a smallmouth right off the bat on a jerk bait on a gravel point, and another one off a laydown about 15 minutes later, and then went through a dry spell for a few hours. Finally found some on one bank that had some docks and brush piles, just going down the bank throwing a 2.8 Keitech and the ned. Caught 5 on that stretch, and by then it was noon and time to go. Fish were in the 10-20 FOW zone, WT 51. Water is still clear in some areas down by the dam, 20 feet of visibility, in the coves and up Indian, you've got maybe 5 feet of viz. There's a few stripers in the area, I had something really whack the Keitech that was a hit and run, could've been a striper. Saw a few stripers on top early, worked a top water for a bit, but no bites. Some debris floating around some of it is big stuff you don't want to hit.
  13. If you're only going to get 2 bites, it is nice when one is a 4 lber.!
  14. Nice chunky fish!
  15. Looks like it has peaked, James has dropped down to 10K CFS. If they keep dumping water, it should start going down.
  16. Looks like the Corps has pushed the release up to 20K CFS. James is still around 30K but dropping.
  17. I don't know how much the Roaring River kicked out, but I doubt it was anywhere near 40,000 CFS. They have been releasing about 2K CFS from Beaver, but they have cut that down. looks like the Kings briefly jumped up to near 10K CFS, but that is dropping also.
  18. Looks like the James has peaked and is finally coming down.
  19. Wow, that is a bunch!
  20. No number 1 seeds left. K State has a shot.
  21. Drove around a bit today, not too bad. Some gravel on the roads, lakes got muddied up with some debris washed in, but that's about it. he really heavy stuff look to have fallen just to the north of me. Beaver has only come up 6 inches or so. Just noticed that they've cranked up the release on TR. 16,000 CFS, but there is still 30,000 CFS coming in from the James.
  22. Cool, I want to watch that one.
  23. I do, and as a matter of fact I believe Arkansas is playing LSU and it is on ESPN. I have it setup to record. I'm way more of a MLB fan than college baseball, but I will watch an occasional college game.
  24. I never knew there were any K-State fans. Thought everyone that lived in Kansas pulled for the Jayhawks.
  25. Golfers have their own set of complaints about other people on the course.
