I usually just lay in bed till daylight, get up and drink a pot of coffee, then take a little walk. If I don't shoot anything, we sit out in the sunroom and watch the fields till about 3 then walk the woods some more till dark. I saw 10 Sat, 8 on Sunday and had my doe in the fridge by noon. I killed a 10 pt last year out of the front yard and the 2 antlerless ones out of the field spotted from the house. Of course, you can only do that when you own your own land and control the hunters on it.

If I saw the drug deals on my properties, the Castle Doctrine would protect me. I would shoot them as they are clearly endangering my life or property. If I was to allow a drug transaction, drug use, or other illegal activity on my property and did not take a step to stop it, then I would be as guilty as the ones that are doing it. Although, I would expect the same equal punishment or less than that was dealt to the actual offender, not more harsh as what may be taking place here.

What Are You Tying For C&r This Year?
jdmidwest replied to Terry Beeson's topic in Roaring River State Park
Nice flies, who tyed them, you or Eric? What do you call the last one with the tuft of white antron at each end? -
I know people that have trained their dogs to pick them out. If you own property with deer on it, make a shed drop out of a cattle panel and a mineral block or some other attractant. It is good exercise to fill a non hunting part of the year till the mushrooms start popping.

There are many things in life you buy that you never own. The software running your computer is not yours, it still remains the property of Microsoft and you have a license to use it with their stipulations. You buy a car, but you still pay for the taxes on it year after year, same with a house or any other personal property. Genetically altered seeds, hybrids, etc, are designed for a one shot use for the most part and not good for seed crop the next year except in controlled environments. But unless you breed the same genes back into the seeds with no pollution from other neighbors crops, the seed is altered and, it is not really the same design as the one you bought. But you could take their genes, make your own cross, and make a better product than what they offered last year. You could sell the seed and make a profit off of their design and your research, so technically, they own part of your product. What is the issue? I think this only affects large farms, not the everyday backyard gardener. Companies spend alot of money to design a seed to produce a crop with x design. X design may be performance, resistance to a disease, resistance to a climate, or a whole new plant all together. Monkeying with plants seems acceptable to most, it is when you alter mammalian life, it raises eyebrows.

The information provided did not state the outcome of the individuals that were involved in the transactions, that would be separate court documents. This document just states the reason why Camp Zoe and Tableau are involved. There are probably more cases tied to this investigation, just don't know where to go to find it. A local stretch of road has been deemed dangerous because two teenagers raced to school one morning. MSHP decided to make it a Travel Safe Zone and double the fines in that area, all violations, any reason, with stepped up patrols. Of course, the original offenders are pushing daisies because of their poor driving skills and did not face any fines. Kinda ironic wouldn't you say.

Which hook is that Eric? I always have trouble finding hooks that work well with beads, especially with a barb. -
The actual complaint Camp Zoe Complaint states that undercover individuals witnessed the sale of marijuana, cocaine, lsd, mushrooms, opium, and marijuana laced foods and purchases were made by undercover agents in plain view of the owner and his staff during Swagstock music festivals. That is why the property is being seized, the owner did not try to curb the sale or use of drugs, so he becomes guilty by association? I still think the property seizure is too harsh, but the drug business should be shut down, some way, some how. And I am sure that is why the neighbors and local law enforcement are joined against the owners.

Opening day started with a drizzle and warm, then North wind started blowing, cooled off and blew hard the rest of the day. It was slim pickin's. I took a doe on Sunday, buck run 5 off the hillside about 8 am. Woods are very dry, a squirrel makes about as much noise as an Elk walking thru the woods. We need rain and cooler weather.

Ha Ha! The way they were piling on Ness, I was afraid someone was going to hurt his feelings but he seems to be holding his own..... There have been way too many personal attacks as of lately.

Why would you pack heat on a river like that, why shooting turtles and snakes of course. Back in the day, it was sporting target practice to pluck snakes and turtles off of logs on a float trip. Great video, I downloaded it and watched it tonight. The river has really changed and opened up since then, those chutes are gone for the most part.

Why do we wait for Phil, I think Dano has the authority.

It relates to my mastery of the Google Search Engine. Except I rearranged the letters too, should be Google Fu.

Dam. Somebody stole that yak out of my back yard. Good looking boat, glad to see it back. Did anyone figure out who the POS was that stole it in the first place or did it just float off? More pics of the boat would be nice, it looks like a work of art.

Just my 2 cents. I camp many nights a year in both public and private campsites. Private owned and managed are far stricter and are patrolled more than public. State Parks tend to make sure they collect the money, they let dog owners have barking dogs, don't enforce quiet hours, and have no security in sight if you would need it after the fee collection times end. Private camps usually don't allow dogs, have security patrolling or accessible at a guard shack all night, controlled access to the park, and are usually more suited to catering to individual campers with a more relaxed atmosphere. Neither should be held liable for what happens at the location that is out of their control. Unless they or their agents are the ones instigating the illicit activities. We really need to see "the rest of the story".

My Google foo is better than your spell checker.... I typed in Camp Zoe in my Google Search bar in Firefox and it popped up this article which actually had the link to the court document filed. Pretty ominous if you take the time to read it, "The United States of America vs ", lets you know right off the bat you are pretty well in deep sh. The whole US of A is going to court against you. Then I looked at the Homepage for the Wild Hunt thinking it may be an outdoors site with a name like that and find out it is a Pagan Worship Website. Same misunderstanding when I paid to see the "Girls Gone Wild", some names are misleading.....

I used to play the Deerhunter series by Sierra and a Duck Hunter game on the PC. I had a Flyfishing game at one time that was pretty lame also, but it passed away the winter nights. Of course, they were DOS or Windows 95 era games. New processors would have to be stepped down to get them to play right.

They would be temperature dependent, deeper water or spring locations would be the first places I would try. Gravel bottoms or areas where crayfish will be located. Is this the lake near Carbondale that used to get stocked with trout? I can't remember the name but have fished it a few times, its either Devils Kitchen or Little Grassy if I remember right.

Interesting thread on another website with an actual link to the document filed in the court, looks like there was some pretty serious drug action going on, even with the owner Tableau present. I am sure Zoe's side of the story is a little more innocent in order to try to prove innocence. It looks like the land grab should be a little harsh, why not just file charges against ownership or actual dealers? Maybe because it was incorporated. Of course, this comes off of a devil worship website.... The Wild Hunt Article

Now why did you have to make it a political issue and drag politics into it?

If they can seize property on the basis of another's drug use, then I guess I am liable now. We found a mobile meth lab on our property a few years back. They come in thru private property, went up a stream bed out of sight on a 4wd jeep, built a fire and made a batch, then left the mess. Did not even know it till I was fishing up stream a week or so later and found it. We also had someone burn a vehicle on the same property one night, did not even find it till next rabbit season. Local law enforcement did not even bother to make a report. Of course, we would be covered by a trespass law, the land is posted and they were not invited. Owner's of the event could be held liable. If you hold a party and let an underage person drink your booze, then you are liable. If you give a legal person booze and they have too much, take off driving, and kill someone in a wreck, you could be liable. This did apply to bars unless it has been changed. I would assume there are other things involved in this than what is making the news. I read a little about it on River Hills Traveler. I would assume a crowd like this would draw may have had some ill effects on the local population. While most were probably upstanding persons, I would assume local law enforcement probably saw a spike in crime during the events. There is another event that draws this same problem over in Ill. at a Saltpeter Cave.

Salute to the good guys, happy Veterans Day.

Jackson Rotary Park Lake in Jackson, MO.

It could very well be, depending on the depth of the lake. Nights have been cool but it warmed up to 75 today here. That would be too warm for them to feed well, but the wind here kept the lake stirred up and the water was still cool to the touch. I have noticed in 4 trips to the local lake, my fly has out produced all of the spinfishers.

Trout still fishing well this week. Nice weather but only have about an hour after work to fish before dark and the time change. Took the Daughter last 2 days and caught several apiece on bead head nymphs under an indicator. Lots of rises, could not see anything on the water.
