Alcohol free fuel 🙄
jdmidwest replied to fishinwrench's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Casey's around here usually have a hi octane non ethanol pair of pumps. And all of the small engine guys are hitting it. Enough to keep the fuel fresh. Harp's have come to the area and are carrying a non ethanol at them also in the hi octane. My 4 strokers sip the gas, so its only a few dollars more at each fillup. I fill the tanks up in the fall and siphon them off in the spring to cans for the mowers and tillers. Helps keep the condensation to a minimum in the boats. -
There was a brewer here that had a pretty good setup. I bought a growler from him to try. And I have tried a few bottles from others. But, remember, I have a goofy set of tastebuds. Sweet things taste like crap. The Honey Jim Beam is good.

I thought about the Meade and then I realized it just wine. I don't like wine. I have a brewer at work. I am going to donate some honey for a beer he makes with it instead.

Lifting the helmet law is working. I had seen several "dead right there" that probably would have survived it. One last week, 45 mph, teen pulled out in front of him probably on phone, dry pavement. Head trauma to pavement when landed. Helmets have a purpose, melons are fragile and needed for survival and thought processes.

Probably Murphy USA low grade. Definitely not Ethanol FThey, that's around $5 a gallon now. The normally add a scent packet to their pumps to make it smell like gas. Probably a shortage on smell packets. COVID -

Nice and stealthy camo added. -
That cost us way more tax dollars than arresting him for child endangerment. And most are too stupid to make decisions for themselves anymore. I asked a customer today for his "mailing address". It was a 3 minute ordeal making him realize that I wanted the location of his mailbox to send him a bill.

Probably dumping and doing dye tracing on rivers at the same time. I guess that is why the pump says "do not dispense in glass containers". They don't want you to see what is in it. Shell posted a 3.1 billion profit for 1st quarter according to one report. They stated obscene profit. Probably alot of urine in that sample made it yellow. -
I always had success on a gold bead head, yellow chenille body, red marabou tail. Worked on bluegill too. But I never caught one bigger that about 3-4 lbs on a 5 wt

FEMA comes in after a disaster to assess damage and help distribute supplies to help the ones affected. They do not have policing powers and are unarmed. Oneshot stated the guy was not wanting to leave when they alerted him to evacuate thinking he would get a bigger paycheck from FEMA for damages.

Don't stop shaving, that would really stir Sugarbritches up. Whisker burns and such. Quit claiming all that income and file for poverty. Let Medicaid fix you up and then go back to turning screws. Better than rotting away from the face down...

Keep in touch, you will be in our prayers. Did you get Giddy and overwork yourself??

Cancer will probably get me eventually, all of the treatments bring on other possibilities of different types. I try to keep on top of things. I have had a few scares in the past few years that has brought on closer looks at things that popped up. The second cancer meant that it had travelled undetected to another location in the 16 month period from original site to the second. It went undetected until I felt a sore spot in a node. I found it, not modern medicine and monitoring methods. I was lucky..

We have been praying for you too. What is the new stuff that has popped up?

Seems like that is the key. Everything is retarded this year but the plants. But, the dogwoods went from flowers to leaves in a few days instead of weeks this year. Back in the day, Spring Woods were full of redbuds and dogwoods blooming out before everything else really greened up and stood out like sore thumbs on hillsides. This year they were covered up by everything else that greened before them.

I was eating a buffet today and the sound system played Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire". My first dose of Chernobyl was 5 years ago yesterday. The song playing in the background was the same song as I lay there strapped in and the machine started churning. I was starting a new level of misery that I had never tried to imagine. I walked out and told TJ my radiation treatment guy that we were going to have to do something about the music in that room. He realized my distress at the random choice of song he had played. After that, every day was a continuance of the person on KSHE that morning on the ride to the treatment. I topped it off with Buck Cherry "Crazy Bit ch" on last day of treatment. Little female nurse said all they had was the uncut track, I said "Don't worry, I'm not shy". What a wild ride that was. Blisters and sores in throat and mouth, thrush, swelling, lose of voice at times. Eating was more of a chore than when they replaced a third of my tongue with my arm. Choking, aspirating, risk of pneumonia. Loss of 15% of body weight, my body burned off all fat and started on muscle mass. Today, I am gaining weight back to my old fighting weight finally. The loss of fat cells under the skin on my arms and hands leave me prone to tears in the skin and bruising like my 85 year old Dad. The right arm is still weak and gives me issues from the surgery on it. My neck and jaw has the numbness from nerve damage and feels like someone has a grab hold on it from tightness of scar tissue. Swallowing and eating is still a mental process, have to concentrate. Ears ring and some hearing loss from radiation. A few bald patches on back of neck and under the chin where the hair never grew back. But, I have survived to see 3 new grandbabies and done many things I am blessed for in the past 5 years. I have seen many pass from the nasty things that cancer does. I know of 2 now that only have a few weeks to live. A weird brain tumor has one in Hospice and another only has a few months with newly diagnosed stage 4 colin cancer that has involved here stomach. NormM is gone, Laker 67 too. Both myself and my cousin are past the 5 year mark now and clean. My buddy found a melanoma early and had it removed, his wife beat breast cancer. One of my co workers has beat breast cancer 2 times. Another friend made it thru a risky prostate cancer surgery that worked well. I have met many on my job at work that have been thru different oral cancers and survived. Others on here are winning the fight. Every day is a new adventure.

I can remember when the whites run in late March and early April. This global warming is pushing up the warmer stream temps into May along with the frosts.

You have went from rookie stage to mentor. Good things happening in your area. Mine are happy with the added boxes. Still no detected swarms yet. Constant goofy weather here to keep them on their toes.
-
Now that you mention it, I need to check if mine even has livewells.

I would stick with a 8.6' or 9' rod and a good floating line. Spend more money on the rod that does all of the work and the line that helps the rod do its thing. Reels store line and are used for fighting big fish. 5 or 6 weight depends on the size of the flies and distance you are planning to cast. I am not familiar with any of the rivers, so someone else that knows the area may be able to help you with that choice. Personally, here in Missouri, 5 wt is fine for any of the areas I go. Larger weights for open water and longer casts for bigger flies. Save the extra lines for later as you advance and get more technical.

Or maybe one that helps others get started in flyfishing?

I still want to try it, no matter how everyone seems to put it down. Looks like a good fishery.
