  1. We were talking about a bacon wrap hot dog air fry recipe this morning at work. That air fryer makes it healthy.
  2. Hogsuckers.
  3. That link to the kits is a fun read. Branched off it to the Speed Hook web. https://www.speedhook.com/speedhook/
  4. All the ones I have used swell up and get bigger like a balloon. You can pack a coin size one, not lubricated, and have something to collect a pint or so of water.
  5. Condoms are small water containers.
  6. My nuts jiggle around but don't have any screws loose. Have a few staples and clips inside me too.
  7. Laundry basket seems pretty simple. North Spore has several varieties.
  8. Have not tied a wet fly in years. Closest I come anymore is a soft hackle. Those wings are tricky to get laying right.
  9. That bucket idea looks pretty simple. I know some have tried the store bought logs on here also.
  10. From the looks of things, raised beds will not be ready for the annual planting of the greens. In the past, lettuce, radish, spinach will all be planted on Feb 14. My beds are iced in with a coat of 4 inches of frozen sleet. I don't think covers will help or dry them out this week. Anyone else getting the urge?

    Mushrooms.

April will be here soon. This round of frozen moisture will prep the ground. Meanwhile, here is a do it yourselfer that made a mushroom bucket and tells you how to grow Oysters. Wonder if it would work around here. Oysters are pretty tasty. https://www.rootsimple.com/2022/02/a-low-tech-experiment-in-growing-oyster-mushrooms/
  12. Correct. It was originally done to prevent the Feds from imposing Stricter Laws on the Citizens of Missouri than we already have. Mainly, "The Right to Keep and Bear Arms". If the Feds passed a law stating the private ownership of firearms is not allowed, it will not be enforced by our law enforcement. And our law enforcement would protect us from the Feds. Essentially, we would be in a first step of Succession from the United States. But the wording has some worried that it would keep Missouri Law Enforcement from working with other groups like the FBI, DEA, Homeland Security. I don't think there has been any issues. But someone brought it before the Supreme Court for clarification.
  13. Better than his Thunderstick.
  14. Too many cases like the one that Oneshot is talking about. So far, that one appears to be a case against the police that served the warrant. But with so many law enforcement getting shot and killed lately, last year being an increase, police forces are being cautious. I guess they are sneaking in to avoid getting shot when they serve a warrant. I have not seen the details on the shooting yet. Were they being quiet and wearing night vision, serving a warrant on someone in the dark. The use of Military Tactics by our policing forces is getting kinda scary.
  15. Alot of my "stuff" goes bang. Don't need to hand any of that over to the other side.
  16. Was that what broke you two up?
  17. Its not the shuffle. Its some poor fool that used to wear felt for traction and can't ever feel safe in regular soles. He is taking baby steps.... Its the Didiymo Shuffle.
  18. We used to stay in Eldorado Spring and duck hunt the Schell Osage. The water smelled like sulfer, strong. And tasted funny. Where did the radiation come from? I figured the sulfer was the coal
  19. I made alot of sinkers and bullets in a stale damp basement with my Uncle in St. Louis using those lead pipes. We cast a ton of stuff out of them. Did I mention I used to roll Mercury around on the palm of my hand in Chem Lab at High School. Now, that would be an all out Hazmat situation.
  20. Save them, we may need to make bullets.
  21. Have you tried the Gamo PBA all copper? Pretty heavy weight. I shot some I bought on sale for 177, they flew pretty good out of my break barrel.
  22. It will. Lead is going away or going to be priced out of existence. I think there will be enough lead for my Grandkids, I do have some set back for them. Bought 4 boxes of Crosman heavies in 177 and 22 this week. On sale. Hopefully teck will catch up.
  23. That's the recycle plant, not a smelter. The ore, if they still mine it there, goes out the Port at Scott City to be smelted overseas. The ore truck traffic has been pretty slim the last few times I went thru the area. It used to be pretty heavy. The cut the rail line at Bixby years ago on 32. Park Hills area has been a big cleanup project for years. All of the old tailing piles, water runoff, personal yards have been dealt with. EPA came in and gouged them good. The smelting that went on in Herculanium did the same thing and they were whacked for it.
  24. Copper. Barnes is a leader. Many are making "green" bullets. https://wildlife.ca.gov/Hunting/Nonlead-Ammunition/Certified FYI, Copper Mines make alot of deadly byproducts too. But some think that copper is not bad for mammals. Except when it hits them with force. And there are plenty of lead free airgun options too. I like the copper ones, they work in some airguns well. https://airgunpelletdb.com/lead_free/yes/
