  1. Right click and Save as File? Then copy to device you want to play them on.
  2. They can alter the Olympics too. http://www.torontosun.com/2014/02/20/video-shows-wolf-walking-through-sochi-athletes-village
  3. Hilltop view with nice breeze.
  4. You have to do a roux or the crock pot thing would not be as good I am thinking. It is a mixture that makes it all taste right. I wonder how they come up with the roux thing. Of course, I wonder about a lot of things in life.
  5. I think he shut it down and let everyone cool off. People are so sensitive on here.....
  6. Ness, great idea to make the roux. I hate standing around stirring the stuff to keep from scorching. That would have made my etoufee alot easier the other night also. This recipe should work well on the white bass run here in about a month, I will give it a shot.
  7. Anything over waist deep water if temps are below 50 and I have a jacket or an inflatable on. Knock on wood, I have not had to use it yet. My friends son dumped his yak duck hunting a lake in the dark last year, water was about 20 ft deep and cold. Yaks float no matter what and he was able to stay with it and get to the bank. He was calm and did not yell out, all we heard was a weird thrashing around. We did not know about it till he rowed up.
  8. High clear knoll overlooking the river with a good view on all sides, Limited access so you don't have to waste much time laying trip wires and have more for drinking. Pick a quiet spot so the slightest noise will awaken you from your drunken slumber to defend camp in case of intruder meth heads or mountain lions. Clear fields of fire and plenty of bright lights.
  9. What caused the outage over the weekend? I noticed the forum was down from Sat around 8 till about 11 or so on Sunday. It kept showing a sql server error or something like that when it loaded under the header.
  10. Could be the thaw, everyone is thinking about going Fishing.
  11. Lead balloon! Only need a few of them to fill a freezer. You would need a cricket the size of a mouse for bait.
  12. I just thought it got the big ole delete button, but like others, the issue had to be linked to politics. His post was not the one I was thinking of, I thought it was kinda harmless.
  13. Wow, if I knew it was that easy, I should have done it a long time ago. The tides did not mess with you are were you far enough inland? I would just be happy eating a fresh supply of seafood for several days. That oyster po boy has my mouth watering.
  14. The net bags would allow the spores to fall from the mushrooms to the ground where a solid bag would not. But there is more needed to get the mushrooms to grow. The actual fungus grows in the ground thru out the year and only "fruits" and develops a mushroom when the conditions are right. The mushroom does release the spores that spread the mushroom and they develop in the folds of the main body. The fungus part is thought to have a symbiotic relationship with roots of trees and needs the tree to develop. I have best luck around sycamore, ash, poplar, catalpa, elm, apple, and oaks. They are usually found in loose fertile soil with leafy cover. Too much leaf cover and the mushroom does not break thru and they are hard to find. If one could grow them commercially, it would be a great accomplishment. But for the most part, it seems like they will always be a "wild" product.
  15. I bet he went camping.
  16. MDC does have restrictions, permits, and regulations in place regarding captive deer. The MDC has had them in the rule book going back to 1984 it looks like. Feel free to browse the sections 9 and 10 regarding them. Its a pretty good read and encompasses captivity of all game animal species. http://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/3csr/3csr.asp Deer have to be confined to a minimum of a 8 foot fence. Most breeders I know line the fence with some kind of material to keep the deer from being spooked by things walking up outside of the fence and nosey neighbors. They were reguired to send a head in if a deer dies for CWD testing. They have routine inspections by a MDC agent to check compliance with breeding guidelines. Deer are ear tagged and registered, any movement between farms is documented. A vet does an inspection also. I do believe that the MDC may be trying to put some of the regulation of deer farms off onto the Dept. of Agriculture, but I don't know it as a fact. White tail deer still fall under the wildlife code as many other captive animals. The trouble with the detection of CWD in deer is that the only real test for it requires a brain tissue sample. It can't be performed on a live deer. And there is alot to learn about the disease that has yet to come to life.
  17. Nope, I saw it too. I guess Phil must have fixed it.
  18. Morels are funny creatures. They are really picky about where they want to grow. And there is a narrow window of growth requiring the right amount of moisture, temp, and light. I don't know if a kit will produce any mushrooms, but feel free to keep us posted.
  19. How do you come to the conclusion that there are no restrictions in place not regarding deer farms? I know for a fact, as I have friends that own 4 farms locally, there are restrictions, testing, required paperwork, licensing, etc. in place that is monitored by the MDC at these farms and it has been that way for at least 4 years. I was personally involved in one of them when they started building the deer farm and have a little first hand knowledge. He has since sold out due to losses last season from EHD. As far as the bill goes, it is the first that I have heard about it having any relationship to the MDC. But I would surely vote against it in a public election. As you all know, I am for a smaller government with less executive powers.
  20. I agree with that one. Most streams you can paddle back up, walk thru the riffles, fish while you are doing it. I think the pole would be a waste of time.
  21. Contractors round here are wondering how far down the frost line has gone. This has been one of the longest cold spells in a while. Not only is stuff froze on top of the ground, the ground is frozen pretty deep and will need more time to thaw. Hopefully, the raised beds will thaw enough in the next couple of days to pull the old stuff out. Then I can put the glass covers on and dry them out some. Maybe plant some next weekend. I have a feeling the cold has done a number on the bee hives. I have piles of dead bees in front of each hive. With temps in the 60's this week, I will be able to go in and take a look for the first time since October and see how they are doing.
  22. Add one thing to sweeten the pot, Guided Trips for the entire hunt. Just think how tired you would be setting up dekes from Labor Day to Valentine's Day. Don't forget sinkboats on each coastline setup for divers. A great saltwater hunt would be fun and you could pick up some of those coastal ducks. I have connections to do the Alaska hunt, a friend has some land near Portage with a marsh and a blind. He also goes to Fairbanks each year for Sandhill Crane. I just have a hard time dropping that kind of coin for the plane ride just to kill a few birds. But I have always wanted to experience Alaska that time of year.
  23. Same bill as my link. And it will go to a public vote at the polls for all Missourians to decide, that will be the time to stop it. MDC should not fall under the powers of this bill as they are not funded by State Taxpayer Dollars collected by the State. They are funded by a sales tax and license fees and are governed by their own board of directors. As far as moving the Deer Farming over to the Dept of Ag to regulate, I could see that as a logical move as it is a Agricultural venture, not wildlife conservation.
  24. Yep, it is a promulgation. But I see no reference to MDC http://legiscan.com/MO/text/SJR42/id/914881
  25. I managed a Godfather's Pizza back in the 80's for 6 years. Best time of my life, and some of the best eating. They have all closed up shop in this area.
