  1. If you get a G2, you can get all sorts of colors! Mine is a gen1 and navy, so it's kind of dark, but not as dark as a Mercury.
  2. Angle the boat trailer downstream in swift water. It makes unloading and loading much easier (and safer). It's much easier trying to load a boat onto the trailer when driving up into the current slightly versus going completely perpendicular to it. For whatever reason, I rarely ever see people doing this. Just make sure you don't drop the trailer off the downstream side of the ramp. In fact, it's best to just use the upstream side if you're not real familiar with the ramp or good at backing a trailer.
  3. They actually did, but I wanted an orange one!
  4. As others have already mentioned, it's not really needed on Taney due to the wade fishermen. If you need a jet boat to run a spot, the chances are pretty high that there will be wade fishermen there as well. If you ever see a bright orange Legend SS with a 150 Evinrude Etec jet down there, it's probably me.
  5. Since the fishing was so good the day before, myself and three others went back down Sunday morning. We fished from 7-11 and caught another 50-60 fish. We caught all but a few of them on a 3.5" jerkbaits and marabou jigs. You didn't even have to work the jig much. Just throw it out and slowly reel it back and they would eat it. Heavier jigs with more body to them worked better than the smaller options. I'm guessing the trout could pick up on them better in that dirty water.
  6. Water is high, swift and muddy, but fishing was amazing! Fished 2-8pm and caught between 40-50 with several 15-17". Didn't seem to matter what you threw as long as it was near the bottom. Also had one brown about 13". One of the best days for quality that I have ever seen. Everybody had 16" on their stringers. Both of these fish were around 17". The football was well over 2#, but not sure if he would have made 3#. He put up an awesome fight!
  7. The generators bring cold water into Taneycomo and the floodgate side brings the warmer surface waters in. The two sources of water won't mix together right away so you have a warm and a colder side of the river when up near the cables. As you get farther down the lake, the two different "types" of water eventually mix together and form a consistent temperate across the entire river.
  8. When I spill things and make messes, I usually get ticked off and make it worse by throwing or kicking what was spilled, which then makes me even madder.
  9. If he has a glass boat, his trailer probably has treated lumber on it anyways. Treated lumber isn't nearly as susceptible to rotting.
  10. I remember Amart fishing for retreads in a tournament last year too. Like it or not, it's a pattern and it usually produces good fish. Even if you make the ramp coves off limits, those fish still swim to the nearest points outside of those weigh in locations and hang out. I don't really see why somebody would complain about a fun fisherman catching retreads anyways. Sometimes it's just fun to go catch a bunch of nice fish. It's kind of like having a pond loaded with big bass. No, they aren't the most challenging, but they sure are fun to catch. If that ain't your thing, then move on and fish for them however you like.
  11. That's hilarious!
  12. You're right about the price jump. I just bought the 8" wide carpet for $14 a few months ago when I re-did my bunks.
  13. The first and last tourneys really killed me!
  14. I agree it does look silly, but I love that stuff. Since I started wearing the buff and long sleeved sun UPF shirts, I don't feel near as worn out after a long day on the water and in the scorching sun. Plus, I hate wearing sunscreen.
  15. It might be before my time, but I do have Google at my fingertips......
  16. They probably rock the Tommy Biffle shorty shorts...
  17. @Mitch f @Hog Wally @MOsmallies When will be the flat billed TackleHD hats be ready to go? I need one by the 27th.
  18. Knowing how much y'all hate flat bills makes me want to start wearing them during tournaments. I bet it would drive guys nuts knowing they got beat by a dad bern flat bill wearer.
  19. Are you just referring to MLF or what? The dude has won 1.37 million since 2012 and he's only 27. He's ranked #2 in the world on bassfan.com. I'd say he has more than held his own in the bass fishing world.
  20. Some of us just have fat heads though and it's a comfort thing. ?
  21. This one is looking ugly for me. My guys are sitting in 17, 53, 71, 53 and 102 place. Looks like all of that ground I made up the past three tourneys will be squandered.
  22. It was weird at first, but I got used to it. The braid makes a distinctive sound when the drag is being pulled out so you still hear something at least. I'll keep an eye out on Ebay for a spare spool though.
  23. I've been using the 6925 and 2930 sized Presidents for several years and the only issue I have is one of the spools has the clicker piece broken. The drag works fine, it just doesn't have the audible click like most reels do. My 6930 has always had 15# Power Pro braid on it and has caught a lot of bass for me.
  24. The only fish that I recall giving me a feeling like that was a huge trout I hooked off of the dock at Lazy Valley on Taneycomo years ago. We aren't sure how big it was (probably not as big as my current PB 27" 10# rainbow trout that came from Taneycomo), but it was definitely a big fish. It broke the surface once and looked gigantic! After peeling a bunch of line off, it finally started heading towards me. I thought we were finally going to land this thing! Well due to my lack of skill at fighting fish at the time (I think I was around 10), the fish made a dash under the dock and got me wrapped up on something. If that happened nowadays, I'd just shove the rod down in the water as far as I could. The fishing method and gear was far from glorious as I was fishing an air injected night crawler on a Zebco rod with the double trigger guard handle and a Zebco 33 push button reel with 6# Stren Magnathin, but I still remember that fight like it just happened yesterday instead of around 20 years ago. I did lose a 4# Gasconade largemouth in my trolling motor last year during a tournament. Aside from that, I really don't recall losing many big fish at all during my fishing career.
  25. You can do a lot of things when you're worth 4.1 bi-bi-bi-billion!
