We usually make spicy dill and bread and butter oickles each year. We are hoping to start doing more maters for salsa in the future.

If this freaking Gasconade River would ever clear up, I may actually get to put the lure that Smalliebigs gave me to use. I'm getting tired of dragging bottom, but it has produced a lot of nice fish for me so I've been making myself stick with it. It will be a good excuse to pick up a decent 6' or 6'6" m/f setup that I've been putting off until this winter for when the jerkbait bite picks up.

That was a crazy game to say the least!

The fog and and current make things tough. When it is like that, I will fish near Cooper Creek or the resort that I'm staying at. There is always fish around to be caught in those areas anyways. I'll save the run to the trophy area for when the fog burns off.

That clear water looks like it would be a blast to fish! I've never bass fished Taneycomo, but maybe I need to make a run down below highway 65 and try it the next time I am down there.

Since you mentioned being anchored, I'm assuming you are talking about when the water is off. I have no problems slowing down and idling by in those conditions. Idling upstream in heavy generation isn't possible though so what is your suggestion to boaters in those conditions or do you not fish in generation? My personal opinion regarding other boaters is just fly by me and get past me. The waves only last a short time and things go back to normal. I think it is silly to not expect to deal with waves while fishing on a narrow body of water like Taneycomo.

You will have to add a NMEA 2000 network to your boat and connect it to your graph and motor. Here is a thread on another forum that is discussing this very thing for a 2005 VMAX. http://www.thehulltruth.com/marine-electronics-forum/476199-fuel-management-lowrance-yamaha-vmax-hpdi.html#b Here is a YouTube video that goes over the basics of adding this to a boat. Hope that helps you out.

I'm all about a good fish fry and come cold beer, but I also enjoy catching nice fish. Just be smart about it and keep the smaller keepers for the table and let the big ones go. This is my opinion on all species of fish. For example, two weekends ago we went catfishing and landed six blue cats between 2-25 pounds. The whole point of going was to get some fish to eat and we kept the five smaller ones up to 11 pounds and put back the 25 pounder. I'm sure there are a lot of hypocrites on here that cry about killing a bass, but would have no problem knifing a big catfish. There are enough conservation minded catfishermen out there that they were able to convince MDC to add special regulations for Truman and LoZ.

You guy squabble more than little kids lol. Here's my opinion on spending good money on graphs. If you are a bank beater and/or fish the same body of water all the time, then they probably aren't going to help you much. If you're somebody who fishes new water and wants needs to cover a lot of water to find cover (I do this for crappie all the time and it has turned slow days in to awesome days in areas I was not familiar), then a higher end unit with side scan/imaging is worth it. For the bow, any 2D unit will work and getting units to that link up and share waypoints is VERY handy, but not a necessity since you can still use marker buoys to help stay on a piece of cover once you find it. For me personally, I have a Humminbird 998 side scan unit that I mainly use for crappie, catfish and snagging paddlefish. When I'm chasing bass on rivers, I mainly use it for the mapping and don't even have the sonar on. . The point I am getting at though is that it is simply a tool just like a trolling motor, rod and reel, etc. It's invaluable on some fishing trips and doesn't make a bit of difference on others. The value of good electronics can vary a lot between anglers depending on how they fish and the species that they are targeting. Put a good angler with no electronics and a bad angler with the best and I'd put my money on the good angler every time. Reading a graph and finding fish is only part of the equation. If you can't make them bite then you aren't doing much good.

For those of you that have all of your hard drive space allocated to your current OS, use the directions on the following link to shrink the volume and allocate some space for a new OS installation. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/gg309169.aspx

So you're saying now would be a good time to schedule that guided walleye trip? One of these days, I promise I will quit screwing around and call you and beg you to teach me how to catch those things.

I don't get the hate for 8.1 aside from the Metro start menu. Once I sucked it up and made the jumped from 7 to 8.1, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The best thing I did was wipe out everything from the Metro start menu and set it up with the applications that I actually use. Once I did that, I actually preferred it over 7. It definitely uses less resources and runs better than 7. With that said, I still run 7 pro at work on all of our workstations because it works with all of our software. I'm all about don't fix it when it ain't broke when I'm managing a 1000+ machines for other users. Since 7 is supported until January 14, 2020, I have a while before I will have to worry about upgrading things at work. I'm looking forward to being able to download my copy of Windows 10. If the 8.1 haters like 10 then I should really love it.

Guys with inboards and HDPE bottoms do that crap all the time! They will purposely jump gravel bars and logs and keep on scooting as soon as they hit water again. You won't see me doing that (on purpose) in my boat! I need at least 4" of water. There are a few areas on the Gasconade that require me to actually "slide" the boat over them when the water is low because they literally have a trickle of water going over the gravel. They are very small spots in water that I'm very familiar with so I have no problems slide sideways to get the boat out of the water just a touch higher so I can make it over, but I wouldn't be trying it on something I'm unfamiliar with.

Maybe that is the one the one we had follow our jerkbait to the boat a few weeks ago in the same area. Congrats on the awesome fish!

On top of that, most people that read this stuff take it as gospel and never do their own research to verify a story. Some of the stiff you see shared on Facebooks and the number of folks that believe it without verifying it is mind boggling. It is no wonder there are so many sheep in this country.

Mine is a 150 jet and I love it too. As long as it isn't sticking out of the water, I don't sweat it. just hammer down and get through the shallow stuff.

I never did see any cicadas this year. Was this big hatch supposed to only be in certain areas of the country?

I will have to fix the picture when I get on a computer. I'm posting from an Iphone 6 right now.

We went to Bagnell with hopes of bowfishing, but it was too muddy. L uckily shad were easy to get along the lookout wall so we catfished. It was very slow except for a 30-45 minute flurry between 10-11am. In that time we caught six blues. The smallest was a three pounder and the biggest was just under 25 pounds. After that flurry, we fished three more hours and never caught another fish. The five smaller ones were kept for a fish fry and the big one got released to grow bigger.

Nope. I don't think he owns a chartreuse shirt, so to try and be as cool as me he had to find the closest thing he had and put it in his picture.....poser.

we picked pur first yellow squash and cherry tomato this evening. We should be loaded up with zucchini and ellow squash soon. We have a mess of bush beans ready to pick. some of our heirlom tomato plants are loaded and look good while others look like crap. Something must me missing from the one bed because the plants have a lot of yellow and dying leaves down low. Hopefully the warm up next week will help things out.

The NL Central definitely isn't as weak as it used to be. The Cubs and Pirates and would be doing well in nearly every other league in MLB. The Cubs could be in 1st place in some leagues and 2nd is nearly all of them.

They have to figure something out for offense. It's a good thing the pitching has been so good this year. If the pitchers start getting rocked, thngs could get REALLY bad.
-
She was getting too close to your spot so I planned on hooking that nice trout at just the right time so it would jump in to her line and make a big mess, therefore giving you more room to fish. It takes team work to successfully fly fish the bathroom hole.

Oh I'm just throwing in a few jabs for good times. I know we all have different tastes otherwise, we would all be fishing for smallmouth bass with NED rigs!
