A while back I was reading a thread (not here, can't remember where) about rock cairns and there was a consensus among those party poopers that these should be destroyed whenever encountered. Apparently there are folks that think this is destructive of nature. So, as Sgt. Phil used to say, 'Be careful out there.'

I've hired guides (always fly fishing) on several occasions and had great experiences and just ok experiences. None were ever bad though. I started to type a bunch of it out but decided against it because it was going to be too long. I don't have and earth shattering insight, but if you'd like to chat with somebody on the customer side of things, PM me.

We were talking about that on Usenet, list servers, Yahoo groups and the Cafe. I've come to believe it'll never happen. But, shoot a deer from the road and an MDC SWAT team will hunt you down, take your stuff and there will be a Facebook article about it. I don't know what the answer is.

Welp, mother in law turns 80 next month, and now there's a trip to IA coming. And when there's a trip to IA, I like to get up to the Driftless Area. Like the brochure says, 'The glaciers missed us. Make sure you don't!' So maybe there'll be another Driftless trip report soon. Just booked a place in Decorah. This will the first time in the last few year that I'm not 'guiding' someone, so that'll be nice

I had a small asparagus bed for several years. Don't remember the variety, but it was supposed to be all male or female -- whichever is the good one. It wasn't. I got a lot of enjoyment out of that -- always the first thing going each year. But it was a pain to keep clean and it would spread outside the bed like you're saying.

New Glarus, WI is a cool little town and that brewery is a good one. They have a Beer, Bacon and Cheese Festival each summer. My sister is in the Chicago suburbs so we have gone up there with her a couple times. About 2 hours from her house. Pretty fun and lots of different things to try. Got talked into doing bacon/maple ice cream and it was very good. Never would have thought it would work with bacon but it did. Have a friend that really likes Spotted Cow so I brought some back for him one year.

If you have a Google account I think it'll share info across other devices signed in to it. Chrome, gmail, maps, etc.
