  1. I guess I was overdue for another one of those.
  2. Nice shots! Congrats on your purchase. Hope it does well for you. I’m pretty much a stills guy at the moment. If some grandkids come along I’m sure I’ll venture into video. I’ve been very happy with my move to Fujifilm. Love the build quality, intuitive manual controls, film simulations and smaller form factor. Great images right out of the camera so I don’t need to spend a lot of time on the computer. Liked the system enough that I just today took delivery today of their X100V, a fixed lens (35 mm equivalent, so slightly wide) rangefinder-style camera. It’ll replace my pocketable point and shoot that shot craps a while back and be my grab-and-go camera. Controls and menus are nearly identical to my X-T3, so not much new to learn. Here’s the two of them side-by-side:

    What's Cooking?

I made pretzels not long ago and whipped up a cheese sauce. It was just flour and oil roux, added some milk and cooked for a few minutes. Added cheese, a little grainy mustard and a dash of cayenne.
  4. This is one of my all time favorite thread titles!
  5. ...and sensationalizing. It's darn near impossible to find good, solid information.
  6. Yep. Br. Dominic and I kinda hit it off. He let me take his picture: As I was leaving he stopped me and said, ‘May your fortunes be like the capital of Ireland: Always Dublin.’
  7. They were just people in monkey costumes. C’mon man! 😄
  8. Henny Youngman would be proud!
  9. Butch Cassidy was a good one except for that stupid ‘Raindrops are Falling on My Head’ part. The Sting was great. Never knew the Robert Shaw connection.
  10. The rapist for 200 Alex 😄

  12. I had knee replacement a while back and I kept a pretty thorough notebook before and after. I felt like I needed to have questions written down before I went in or they'd get forgotten or lost in the conversation. SOO much information gets thrown at you it's almost impossible to keep track of it all. And since I was on pain meds for a while afterward and in a fog, I didn't want to mess that up so I wrote down when I took stuff. Best of luck to you.
  13. My first shingles shot didn't bother me. Second one gave me cold-like symptoms -- achy, tired. Only lasted about a day. Way better than shingles.
  14. Reminded me I've got that same info available. Glad to know mine got there!

    Favorite Movies

It's too bad if nobody knows this one. Really good flick -- Red Rock West. Nick Cage, Dennis Hopper, JT Walsh, Lara Flynn Boyle. Down on his luck good guy makes the right choices when faced with tough decisions. Hard to find this one -- I rented the DVD from Netflix to see it again.

Coen brothers, baby. I even liked Brad Pitt in that, which took some doing.
  17. We're playing Thanksgiving by ear. Have invites out to immediate family for here, but we'll make a final call closer to the date based on what we know then. It certainly won't be 20-30 folks like the good old days. Same with Christmas Eve at this point. Sucks.

    Favorite Movies

Not to be contrary, but that movie is too much of a downer for me. Kinda stuck in my head in a bad way when I saw it years ago. I don't need Hallmark, but I don't want to feel like crap after a movie

    What's Cooking?

We had this flatbread with Brie, fruit and a touch of honey the last weekend. Gonna give this a try. Ate outside and had some decent MO wine. It was cold! May be our last meal out for a while

    What's Cooking?

Wait! It ain’t Friday. What gives? 😄
  22. You guys sure lead interesting lives.
  23. Thanks, Ronnie. Really happy with the new camera body. Feels better in the hand, love the additional manual controls. It felt kinda good to get out, slow down, just look at things and shoot. Haven't done that in a looong time. Those were done in-camera with the Velvia film simulation mode, which I loved for landscape in the film days. Here's another I liked
  24. Coupla shots from the weekend. Katy Trail at Rocheport during the 2 hours of nice light we had. .
