Like the covid sporting events? I laughed and laughed at the NFL games the first time I heard it. Super cheesy IMO but funny none the less! -

Oh android worse Is watching nakid and afraid. Watching the African journeys and seeing guinea hens. They dub in turkey gobbling. Then the one just finished from Louisiana swamp. Showed contestants out trying too get a whitetail. Then showing African plains game. I do watch alone where the last contestant there wins. So far no stupid animal insert. Wonder if naked and afraid does this on purpose? -
In your case right off the bat weight is an issue. You have to consider price. Where in the past pine has been cheaper now not so much especially if you get it from a local sawmill. So consider local sawmill. they usually carry dried hardwood but really how dry is it? You will have warping if not dry enough and wet bought it will be a nightmare depending on what you are using it for. Unless you have unlimited pocket money stay away from big box lumber yards or specialty lumber stores. In your case go pine and don't whine

How to Solve America’s Wild Deer Problem? Eat Them - WSJ Personally I am not in favor of it. But I am used to deer and do not live where widespread damage occurs although the local farmers might disagree. Same farmers plant right up to big timber field lines and blame the less production along that corridor on the deer instead of the trees sucking nutrients and water from those places. Yes it is deer damage too I know.

Well I for one have not been anywhere that there is a lack of common carp. Dig you a can of river worms and go to any drainage on the upper end of the Osage river arm of Truman and wear yourself out. Be sire and wear camo so no one finds your honey hole. May be different in other places of the state. Shot some once in a backwater where a wheat field ready to harvest went under. The carp were so fat almost grotesque looking. So you all know I disposed of them properly. Out in a field where they would be disked under for fertilizer. For the argument that rough fish were as good as other fish we would be stocking them because everyone would be keeping them. Agenda pushing as bad as the political agenda. We should of built a fence to keep carp out of the country

Yep alive and still kicking. I miss Jose Wejebe

Thanks Jeff, We were in the MFA farm store telling the lady there how we were growing out tomatoes. She seemed to know a bunch about raised beds. Pointed to a display and said you need to try this. It is reccomented for pepper plants too. Easy to apply and working well.

Hey old buddy I'm totally with you on the natives. As far as the commons let the bowfishers have thier fun. Introduced non natives should be controlled.
-
The highest percentage is non native invasive carp. I see no problem if they are disposed of properly. A few give all a bad name. If they decimate natives get that under control. Someone here is pushing his agenda. Common carp mess things up just like many other non natives. The common carp intoducers way back when had no idea what they were doing but they are no different than the ones moving around big heads and silvers and black carp species. Cat is out of the bag. Let the bow fishers have fun but do it responsably. Kill them all I say.

Growing like gang busters here in the BilletHead garden, Everything got in a bit late for us. You all talking about cherry tomatoes. We have three plants in. Two gold cherry of some variety and one sweet 100 the tag said. Not sure if the yellow were sungold or not. Have eaten a couple of them and very tasty! Three varieties of big tomatoes. Black Krim, Cherokee Purple and celebrity. Lots of fruit on the vine. Looking good. We never had one with blossom end rot this year. Had a gal tell us to try this and we did. Followed directions. She said need to use in raised beds and that is basically what our wicking tubs are, Oh my goodness we have peppers. Seven varieties, After Lettice and cabbage pulled replaced with crook neck, straight neck and zucchini squash. We have cucumbers too. Have them in side by side tubs. Trellis over them. Since @MOPanfisher had luck with them in tubs I thought I would give it a try. Picking eaters daily now. My honeybees are all over the blossoms. Crazy on them. If I get pests on the plants the pests might get their way. No pest control because of my bee pets. Speaking of bees. What a deal I have gotten into. Started with two hives that made it fine over the winter. Well i wanted a few more. Built three hives. Caught open swarms and in swarm traps 11 colonies. Yes 11. now I have bees in 9 hives one hive of my long Langs has a colony in both ends. One of those will get an eviction notice and be transferred out to a friend close in town. Two of the Layens swarm traps a friend came down from Herman he and his wife stayed a couple days. We got up early one morning and retrieved them. They left in what I called the bee express. He went home and introduced those into his Layens he built this Spring. He had no luck trapping bees up there. A guy has to share freebees and was glad to. The three long langs, The three standard Langstroth hives, And then the three Layens hives. I will do three more this winter I hope in lumber drops a bit and plase out my standard Langstroth if they make it through the winter. It is a zoo around here. Flora and fauna in sync I hope. Feeling blessed around here.

You ever listened to Bob Dylan sing Hurricane about Ruben Carter? I am surprised it is still all there. I like the song. Listen to it if you have time. Lyrics are there to read too. I will post link for you tube and we better not say anything more and get back to food on this thread. Have a good evening Mitch,

Griddle round three, So Pat and I had a busy day. Things to do and each a new phone. I dread that but we were running out of storage space. Stupid phones I would rather get a tooth pulled. We got in all 9 bee hives. Fun to take a peek inside to see what was going on. So we just thawed some burger and made patties. Pat in her waltz around the yard scored on a whole bunch of oyster mushrooms. There was fresh green beans on the stove going. I lit the fire under the grill. When hot on went the burgers. As they got done on went the oysters. Easy, fast and tasty. I love this thing!
