Dutch you are 100% correct. -4 this morning. When I got up to pee at 1AM I actually had some ice in my moustache. Our last three nights have been record lows for sleeping on porch. Have been doing that for last ten years. Sleep like babies with a mattress warmer and electric blanket.

I second what Curtise said about the Marais des Cygnes. That water can and does produce some fantastic fishing in the early Spring but only once in a blue moon do you catch it right. Walleye, Whites, Hybrids and crappie. Again you have to catch it perfect during the spring spawning run. I have a love hate relationship with that stretch of water. -

Hard to tell again on the first one JD. Can you get just a bit of a better pic? I saying a true purple finch. We have had a big influx of true purples this year. Got both but the purple ones are way more dominate this season.

Top one is a rufus sided towhee Bottom one is a starling. Yes some type of woodpecker. Hard to ID woithout my book because immature colors. We enjoy seeomng the tohee's but they like dense brush. I am sure needing feed at this time they will be venturing out to find it. Nice pictures JD thanks.

Ya big sissy! During the taste test you will thank yourself but I am glad I went full recipe. It will mellow out as it ages.
