    What's Cooking?

Ok like tho1mas said the Harter House but actually many meat counters. Not close to a premium meat market here in BilletHeadVille. I did not buy a full tube when I smoked mine. Got it at Wal Mart deli counter. I told them I wanted a hunk cut off what was in the counter. How thin sir? No like a eight or ten inch section . BilletHead

  5. I only know one thing if it happens then @fishinwrench will come back as an smoking old two stroke Evinrude outboard motor. Parts will be available if he needs rebuilt. He will be faster, wound up tighter and of a lighter weight version than he is now, BilletHead
  6. There really only a couple rules. Number one and the most important is do not overcook. Rare to medium rare. You are not dealing with something going through a slaughterhouse. If it has not been shot up and destroyed and cleaned carefully there is no reason to break rule number one. Rule two try to shoot ducks that prefer to eat grains and plants. Avoid ducks that eat shellfish and fish. I have eaten divers but prefer others. Guess I found another rule, Do not listen to @snagged in outlet 3 . BilletHead
  7. Good question Jerry, We eat a lot of waterfowl. The wife hunts too. Daily and possession limits are pretty liberal. On ducks depending on species you can shoot six daily and have three times that In possession. So combined between the wife and I you are looking at 36 ducks in the freezer. On Canada geese three daily and nine in possession. So we can have eighteen geese. We eat as we harvest depending on how close we are to possession. This all being said you can gift out waterfowl just like fish and other game. There are folks out there that take them and we have gifted out to others. There is an older gentleman that visits the clinic where my wife works. He has told her many hunting stories but cannot hunt anymore. He wants a duck and I will make sure he is happy. Could I eat duck everyday? Actually I think I could. If it is properly prepared one of the best meats going. I have had a guy say if you have to cook it right to make it edible something is wrong. Hey man you can ruin a high priced steak if not cooked right too. We have eaten duck three to four days a week before but I am a bit greedy. We like to go into off season close as possible to possession limit we can enjoy the birds all summer long. My friend @Quillback. You know you are right . 12. All kidding aside we have had some fun here with your question, I went back and looked over a few of the pictures I have taken. Note we don't get over there but a few times a year. I have been told the whites are there pretty much year around especially on the Neosho side in the deeper water up from twins. Have been up there a couple times in mid to late February and caught them deeper on that arm. On the Spring side mid to late March into mid April is when we got into them on shoals and in moderate depths between shoals. Good luck and maybe we will meet each other over there sometime. Look for the camo Excel jet and visit with the BilletHead, BilletHead

  18. Yes Buddy have been thinking lately. Glad you are going to get to put one in this season. I have a line on some more tubs. Very happy with the results of the wicking deals. I would like to make enough to replace the ones I grew tomatoes in and those will get peppers or something else so I can rotate and not double up tomatoes. The tubs I grew peppers in last year were not wicking tubs. I really should be getting this done pretty quick. I am not fast anymore doing things. BilletHead
