Allrighty then, Day started out with grandma Vi's buttermilk pancakes. A half batch which was plenty made by the Mrs. at 6:30 am. Ummm good. A bit later todays protein was pulled out of the freezer to begin thawing. Got the rice cooker going with a load of long grained rice. Out of there to cool on the back porch. Did not take long as it had warmed to a balmy 15 balmy by then. Actually began to frost on the top when I slipped it into the fridge. Snacking on potato rolls happened in between things. Boy I love those! I started cooking up the liver heart and ground venison for dirty rice as Pat started getting the onion, garlic, bell pepper, jalapeno and green onion. It all began to come together, Covered this and set aside as the Mrs. began to slice up the protein which was wild turkey. I mixed up the spicy batter while the peanut oil was heating up. Then the breading station was set up and the frying began, As Pat was taking care of this I cleaned and cut up the celery. This was all plated and I had wing sauce and blue cheese dressing to dip in and the Mrs. ranch with her wing sauce. I added a few of those big arse olives stuffed with garlic and jalapeno. The dirty rice for the saints and the Mo. wild turkey for the chiefs. Hope they both win today. Sat down to eat as the first game kick off began, BilletHead

Other tasty things worked up to this afternoon. Potato rolls. Dough made and first rise, punched down rolls formed for second rise. Found the best place in the house for raising. On top of the pellet stove. All the heat blows out the front but hopper top is just barely warm, Smelled so good cooking then out of the oven, I just gobbled one straight up but Pat split, buttered and honey from our hive, May have to make a breakfast sammich in the AM ! Fish and chips, Walleye beer batter fried. Not wanting to fry the chips took three small russets. Washed and ran through the mandolin sideways. Thinnest setting. gave the slices a quick ice bath while I sliced to prevent potatoes turning brown and letting some starch leach out. Thinly coated two cookie sheets. Dried potato slices and separated on pans. a dab of oil smeared on top of laid out slices and popped into a 375 oven. Baked until edges began to crisp. After out seasoning of choice. Small side salad and a barley pop, BilletHead

Well done John, We took three out also here in BilletHeadVille. Trying to wind up the last few days of duck and maybe get a few geese. Would like to get a few more air rifle squirrels and been anticipating fishing. Much more to seasons than Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, BilletHead
