    What's Cooking?

Nothings cooking at this minute at least not with this gizmo but will be sometime in the near future . There is squirrel aurora in the oven though, BilletHead has a new toy!
  7. Glory is the farthest thing we here at the BilletHead household are looking for when fishing. Glory is something you get by beating competitors and being the winner. We do what we do to satisfy ourselves. We compete with other in a good natured fashion . A laugh here and a laugh there. A pat on the back and when fishing with the Mrs. a hug when each of us has a success. If you track what the BilletHead's do we like them big, small and in between and appreciate everyone missed or landed, BilletHead
  8. Oh heck my bad . Guess you are right as he hit a buzzball dry and his itty bitty little lips were bleeding from the hook stick. They were relentless hitting the dries. Hungry little dudes. Mrs. BilletHead caught a couple earlier in the day when she fished solo. She caught a couple of trout too. BilletHead
  9. I am not hating you. We have a lot here in the Midwest. Guess you have the urban trout up your way . We save all year to go where some others don't want to travel. Like what we have here too and most we can do year around ! BilletHead
  10. He isn't going to tell you Jerry! You will sneak in and clean out his honey hole, BilletHead
  11. I have caught trout in some pretty neat places. many, many in their native ranges. I don't care what size they are. Each one is a blessing to me and the Mrs. I catch some big ones too but think there is too much emphasis on big fish or for that matter anything big caught or harvested. Take for example my micro fishing friends. They get pretty excited from small catches! I caught a smallish fish this fall on the Niangua Sent a photo to JohnsFolly. He responds a redtail shiner . Hey I am on my micro way . Haters hate you big fish snobs , BilletHead
  12. Yes by all means friend prayers sent, The BilletHead's

  17. I can see some of this but the carp eats daily and all the time pretty much what he can scrounge off the bottom and root out and eat the plants that grow out of that muck. I do know they eat whatever else falls into the water. Pretty opportunity driven. I checked out the MDC fish advisory website. They pretty well have advisories across the board. Your carp are included in equal to other species and don't eat sturgeon eggs . You have let us know you are the authority on carp so I now name you the resident carpoligist, BilletHead

  19. Nice deer Champ, Sounds like a good way to finish the week by fishing. When you go meet up with my buddy Wrench ask him what he is thinking. He will tell you and pull no punches . That's why we like him, BilletHead
  20. I think we would like this in your words instead of cut and paste.please keep it simple. I am a blue collar worker and not an highly college educatied one such as you. Do not plagiarize and again in your words please. Why are carp not effected and if so where do they rate? BilletHead
  21. Ok I seen your food chain chart. Carp go right to the bottom sediment rich in mercury crunching on the zebra mussels right and bypass the baitfish? In the chart the predator fish are eating the baitfish but you eat them? Where does the carp fit in the chart? BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

Something new tried today, http://chiwulff.com/2017/11/10/friday-feast-10-november-2017-fried-egg-tostadas-with-cotija-and-sweet-chile-sauce/ Mr. and Mrs. BilletHead approved ! We did ours with goat cheese as that is all we found in our Podunk town. I could of eaten a half dozen of them. Also made a double batch of BilletHead BBQ sauce. A gallon is earmarked for Jig Fest, BilletHead
  23. BilletHead BBQ sauce made today, Will bring the four big jars to jig fest. Do you all think a gallon will work? ,
  24. Eating carp from most places because of how long they live and bottom sucking muck would scare the heck out of me. Heavy metal build up. Trout on the other hand are shorter lived and have beneficial fatty acids proven to be good for you and your heart. We want you healthy to tell us your stories of catching trophy carp. Again your stories and pictures, BilletHead
  25. If that is a thirty pounder well done. I know you are a big guy and dwarf that fish. Did you get a certified weight? Here is a thirty five and thirty six pound fish, I am six foot tall without the large frame you carry. They were weighed on a certified scale and photo taken at a conservation office. Did not release. These were shot and the best cuts consumed. BilletHead
