  1. That is exactly the one my buddy has. I mentioned it on page one here. The .25 caliber. A deadly shot he and his air gun are, BilletHead

Well RPS, Man has become domesticated and so has his quarry for the most part. So we will take your farm raised critters and enjoy the good eats you create with them, BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

I can just sit here and close my eyes and imagine Paleo and early Archaic peoples sitting around a campfire after a successful megafauna hunt. A big anvil stone and a hammer stone . Bashing long bones between the two and scooping out marrow with their gnarly fingers. Just like us foodies here on OAF we make noises and grunts from time to time. After translation it equals hey guys this is some good stuff !!!!!!!!!! BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

Oh my Ness buddy, When you are dishing out portions you accidentally put that bone on your plate. Eat it straight or slather the goodness on a slice of bread . Hey I just realized goodness has good and ness in the same word, Is that a coincidence? BilletHead

Bone marrow I decided is a food of the Gods. A prize to our ancestors, got them through some harsh times. Maybe Ness has a cushy life?
  9. I would send you a half dozen if I could! Maybe just one. UPS or FedEx?

  13. I could see myself stringing up my longbow or recurve. Slipping on my hip boots and slowly and carefully stalking across the mud flats trying to get an arrow in that beast as it was rooting in the mud with tail in the air like a great yellow orange flag waving at me. It would be either that or throwing out a bunch of chum, laying back in my carp recliner with a Milwaukie's Best in one hand and my euro high dollar fishing equipment waiting for the fish to find my bait and set the light and buzzer off on my pole alarm amongst all of the chum bait in the surrounding area. . No matter what way the fish would be taken it would be a nice feat. if that fish was any fatter it would burst with another bite. Must of been fed very well to get that large, BilletHead
  14. Pretty neat thread, How many of you air gunners knew Lewis and Clark took an air gun on their trip? https://www.outdoorhub.com/stories/2015/05/12/lewis-clarks-girardoni-air-rifle-gun-helped-discover-west/ I would need Johnsfolly to go with me to keep it charged! BilletHead
  15. Pretty funny, Fall birds are pretty thin around here. Wet Spring was hard on the hatch. Had a friend who lived in Oklahoma. The wild turkeys in his area were not the Eastern we have here. Those birds were stupid and crazy. His wife had a small black sedan. Those birds would cone through his yard in groups, see their reflection in the car paint and attack the car. it was all scratched up. Mrs. BilletHead and I witnessed one such attack. He would open the door and run them off. Car was older and they did not care. Something about that car though. The birds never attacked his truck next tot he car. He would not even hunt those birds. Said they were too stupid. He learned different when he moved to Missouri and tried to hunt our eastern variety, BilletHead
  16. Old Plug, That is a bobcat I did a drive by shooting with my camera as I drove down the road. We had an ice storm and that cat was in a big tree. There was a rather large bramble and berry patch below him and I actually think he was up there looking down for a rabbit. Ice was so thick on the ground if he was trying to hunt down there he could of not seen but inches in front of his face. I too have seen a few of those Maine coon cats. they are very large felines. Pretty neat critters for sure, BilletHead
  17. Yes good deal all the way around. You got you a motor and it is going to a good home. Got that figured right off the bat when I met you. I second the visit part. We have quite a bit in common. I and I am sure all of us know that Mitch! I was just having some fun. Like I have said in the past I love the passion you all have about your smallmouth. They are an awesome fish and I am jealous of your fishery. Love your all's fishing reports and pictures. I have not had the pleasure of fishing with you but have Chief. He is passionate in his fishery and takes care of it like you do yours. BilletHead

Looks good chief! I have been told you can eat any fish except smallmouth . They are catch and release only. Before you all get your panties in a wad I don't eat smallmouth, BilletHead
  20. Not me ketchup but I have a friend who does. I cannot remember the brand but it is a .25 caliber. It takes an air pump to charge it or a scuba tank. Quite a few shots between a charge. He has shot bookoos tree rats with it plus raccoons and possums. I shot it last year. It packs quite a punch. BilletHead

You are a bad man, No better than the people over 140 years ago that transplanted and stocked the non native carp. Ferial cats and crap oops I mean carp are here to stay but that is not right. My buddy Wrench I never figured you being such a big hearted pushover. Take those kitties to a shelter and let them deal with them . Just don't bring them to BilletHeadVille so I have to deal with them. Domestic cats can be pretty neat if taken care of. We had one the Mrs. drug one home when BilletHead Jr. Left for college. She had separation issues. Me not so much I wanted to celebrate the freedom from a teenager know it all . So this cat was indoor/outdoor cat until he ate wild mice and birds and chipmunks and always had to be wormed. When I watched him sit under the birdfeeder and go stright up and snatch bird after bird and never eat them just kill for nothing. Thought about how many cats do this and eating not only song birds but quail and other native species. Right then the cat was banished full time to the inside of the house where he lived a long good life until he had health issues. I did not deal out the death sentence but the vet did. Pretty sad watching an old friend being put down. No more cats for us, BilletHead
  23. Me too, Had a pretty nice visit with him. Need to keep in touch more. He is keeping busy and still getting out to fish, BilletHead
  24. Time to fill the larder, Yesterday morning I was blessed with this doe. A nice short recovery and I heard her go down. Some fine eating. End of story , BilletHead
