    What's Cooking?

No Wrench we are talking wild kittens. Not the domestic variety. We do have some ferial domestic ones around here from time to time. I say time to time but they don't seem to last long. Not sure why . They meet the same fate as MoCarps bow fished carp. They don't belong in the ecosystem , are invasive and detrimental to the land,. I am going to name ferial cats land carp, BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

You know I have trapped and called in many bobcats. When skinning them I noticed hot translucent the meat was unlike the opaque meat in the canines I have skinned. I know that cougar is consumed by hunters. Bobcat did not smell as strong as coyote or fox either. So in my mind I told myself I would try bobcat sometime if I ever decided to call or trap again. So far have not tried it but would if I take my own fresh meat from a bobcat. BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

I kind of thought it was the water variety and not the four legged feline. Just checking, BilletHead
  5. Hey I did get to talk to the Shuttlecock originator. Got the go ahead to do a step by step of my version here on OAF. When I get caught up in Fall activities I will get things started, BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

Looks good, You have been eating on the wrong side of the tracks Snagged. Would that be Persian, calico, Siamese or the barn variety of cat? BilletHead
  7. Gosh wonder who will get the Missouri conservation department to listen first? Wrench and bass dispersal after tournaments or MoCarp convincing the department that carp are good for Missouri waters? My money is on wrench! Go wrench go, BilletHead
  8. Quillback, Add me to the lodging list please, BilletHead
  9. Ok , I am in if you all will have me. Will need some guidance as have only been down there fishing a couple of times and know basically nothing about the area. Will bring another boat too, BilletHead
  10. Fantastic Ham! Three generations Hamming it up , Billethead
  11. The BilletHead feels like his arm is being twisted , BilletHead
  12. Yeppers! One of the rivers that flows from the West is in minor flood stage and the powers to be are saying another four foot. Localized heavy rain or everyone in the Drainage coming from Kansas flushed at the same time, either way it will be up and back down pretty quick. BilletHead
  13. Four inches here in BilletHeadVille! BilletHead
  14. You don't understand Mitch. Where I live is farm country, flat and dirt and bottom ground. My closet gravel is above Stockton and some below. Feeder creeks that flow below again out of farm country. My area is not condusive to the brown bass. BilletHead
  15. Thanks Ronnie, It would not be the fishing or catching but finding the place to fish. I won't ask and just like I have given advice to others that ask you sometimes have to explore and find on your own which gives you the satisfaction of doing it all yourself. Would be different too if I had it close. A guy can burn his wheels off and break the bank looking, BilletHead
  16. I met several I bet that cold show me how. . BilletHead
  17. I know where there is a few close to an hour from home but limited access and a scary part of the river as it is a tail water. Where they are the river can raise in a matter of seconds and go up or down ten to twelve feet. Narrow channel. I have caught on the fly on Stockton but just a few. Other than that it would be over two hours and that would be kayak or canoe water. I want jet boat water . Guess I need to do longer trips, BilletHead
  18. Actually it is sliced breast and not ground. So tender you thought it was ground . Goose naysayers you all have no idea! Thanks Uncletube, BilletHead
  19. Ran across this on my morning cruse of my favorite sites, The BilletHead wishes he had a good smallmouth stream fishery close to home.
  20. Was there anything that I said to make you think I was going off thread or what you posted? Remember the old saying crap flows downhill? This is going to prove crap does and will flow uphill in the form of the top of the food chain. Carp are bottom feeders, yes the occasional one may take a minnow bait or fly or crawfish but in any waterway where there is silt you have carp sucking up mud looking for something to eat. Heavy metal and other pollution is in that mud and silt. So the carp carry this crap, the bass eat the carp and carry the crap. Next stage is something like the otter, eagle, bear in their respective area, the alligator in his area on and on all these animals carry the crap consumed by the lowly carp. The more these top species eat the carp the more crap it has in it's system. The older the fish the more crap it has. This toxin built up in their respective host cannot be good for them. I just realized if you are not careful and transpose a couple of letters crap goes to carp and carp goes to crap . Pretty fitting in my above statement don't you think? I need a proofreader to make sure I have my crap and carp in the right context, BilletHead
  21. Although they are a good food source to an extent you might want to tell the bass there are fish consumption advisories. They are only allowed so much a week and some places none of the bottom feeders. BilletHead

  23. I have held a hammer, swung a hammer, put the hammer down but never been hammered. Rather be the hammer than the nail but have been nailed before. I have been called a tool but do not think this has anything to do with the hammer type of tool? This is all confusing but hey I am not with the program and not privy to the new terminology. BilletHead
  24. I like this Wrench. It wouldn't be a big show though. There would be no holding up big fish and folks screaming and hollering. Can you imagine the pro bass guys using a laser pointer and shining it on a big screen saying I caught this? Weigh ins would be boring for some. BilletHead
  25. Poster child for the high def craws . Both of those pretty faces in the picture. BilletHead
