  1. What? This was supposed to be a top secret mission. Cover blown dang.
  2. Oh I bet so too and so many available extract flavors available to use. I remember having fingers smelling of grapes while fishing. I actually think I have some of those jelly worms in a box stashed away. Might be able to eBay them.😆
  3. Thanks for that John, have not seen this interview.
  4. Years, many years ago my favorite go to bait was a ten-inch Manns grape jelly worm. When they began to get dry, we would use some mineral oil with a few drops of grape extract. Boy that perked them up and the bass loved them. Used the black one's same way except with anise extract. I'm telling my age. Late 70's should be about right for that.
  5. So watch out if you endanger or try to take our freedom we are coming after you.

Fun is right, what a nice gathering.
  7. I actually think my wild patch would maybe be larger head if not for being in a low wetter area.
  8. What is sad is last I heard 50 so far have died and still looking for the 24 young girls still missing.
  9. VID_20250702_115119469.mp4 Oh yes this is a fact. Pat gets a bunch of high-end stuff that way also. I just let her go after it. Some brand new with tags still in them. Her older and still nice clothes we donate. We took four big boxes of stuff to a place that sells and profits got to a woman's shelter. It is a transition place for abused women and the children involved. I even buy there. Found something pretty cool when Pat donated, I bought. I have had the high base for three years and I restored it. Gift from a friend. It is a Griswold American set of waffle iron paddles. Ten dollars for the pair of paddles. Amazing find. They will restore perfect!
  10. Yeppers garage sales is our go to. Our last one Pat found a pair of Ariat fat baby boots. Brand new. The lady said they just don't fit my feet. Pat asked nothing was marked. Lady said five bucks. Pat said what? She repeated that price. These retail depending on store for 65 to 95 dollars. There are so many other things we have found and if it's cheap and we know someone who can use it we buy it and gift it to them.
  11. I will try to sneak up on her next time.
  12. We did a little foraging this afternoon. After three years of drought it was nice to find some chanterelles again. We spread out about 20 yards apart on each side of a drainage in the timber. I could hear Pat singing but couldn't figure out what she was saying. I said hey speak up. A tisket a tasket chanterelles in my basket. 😆
  13. We have never planted garlic. We do however forage for wild garlic. Mostly along the dirt road we live on. A couple years ago some showed up next to the house in a little food plot we can watch out the window. It started to get big last year but not enough to make a head. Well I pulled a little disc behind my ATV to plant some clover for the bees. I must of stirred up the stuff because it has went bonkers. This garlic is really tasty just not big heads.
  14. Wow what a great outing. Thanks for the detailed report buddy.
  15. Some mistakes have been made we all know that but the instead of guessing and griping about what might be we should be thankful for what we have.
  16. In a matter of minutes they settled into their temporary home. It's hard to believe all those bees are in that six frame box.
  17. @netboy we are sorry about your friend. This is really scary and if that type of honeybee ends up here I would give up beekeeping. I have an EpiPen handy. If I get stung by just one bee in the head or neck I get terribly ill. Sick to my stomach, dizzy and other things thank goodness so far no signs of anaphylactic shock. Our doctor says I'm one sting away from that. So far every hive will have seem to be very docile. I do a walk around our apiary a couple times a day just making sure all is going well. No bee jacket needed. When bees swarm most people freak out. Thats when bees are about as docile as they can get. I put myself in two what I call beenados this swarm season. No protection. This is one of the most memorizing things I have ever seen. Mother nature is amazing. I'll share a couple videos. Hopefully they will come through clearly. This was from a few days ago. Normally I would not keep a swarm this late in June but this one was rather large. We watched it leave one of our hives and land 40 feet up in and oak. Two days later it found a swarm trap in the corner of the yard. VID_20250626_082722192.mp4
  18. Just think how good that bean is going to taste. It can feed everyone in your household. All will get a nibble.

My son in one part of town and my sister in another part of town are still out of power. This year you all have been hit twice pretty hard.
  20. Bucket biologists have been the demise of many native fisheries. Even certified biologists screw up. This being said some introduced species have worked out but just as @Flysmallie said once that bottle is opened it can turn into pandoras box.

That was what I was trying to say about your post. I hate to say it, but all wars start because of greed, religion or politics. I wish it would end. In the famous words of the Kingston trio. "Someone will set the spark off and we will all be blown away"
