  1. Heal up Haris and hope you get there soon and give us a report. Only got there twice and that was several years ago. Have fun guy.
  2. I was told by a guy that fishes the North Fork of the White and Bryant creek that the temperate bass eat crawfish out of those creeks as there lots in those waters. That is why I did that color combo. Have not been back to try since then. He also said the green should be more of a kelly green.
  3. Nice Glen so the one you talked about was it for Whites?
  4. Yes, one of my favorite color combos.
  5. Ah now you did not but kind of like this? I did orange flash. Trying to mimic crawfish color. Do tell and spill the beans. I have not even tried these.
  6. Whites and Hybrids buddy:) Actually everything that swims like the old daredevil spoon color. !
  7. Just bounce off my hard head. More worried about the boat partner. Need to do a liability sheet for them to sign before entering the boat.
  8. The assembly line has started. Got to top off the Clouser box .
  9. Got to do me some of those!
  10. No I don't think a larger wing will hurt at all. Trudes for the most part are searching patterns and even in turbulent waters float good. Fast water out West they will be used if and when we get to go again. I used thread for one center section and having no white floss I subbed GSP white for it. Yes should do the dunk test.
  11. Thanks Doug and what are you doing out of bed so early?
  12. Here are my ties of what should be probably named the rude Trude but since the color creator calls it the dalmatian I suppose that it will be. Size 14 a trio of them. @fishinwrench
  13. No these are native and not a flying invasive species.
  14. Here is the deal JD, None have been hard to work at all. I had one problem with a backer board. I try too much to have close fits. Backer board was tight, and bees glued it in tight and had some wood swell. Now I give a tad more room. No burr comb yet in Layens. You level the hive well and the frames hang plumb with no cross combing. Last season did the crush and strain, but I think I will have a Layens crank extractor before fall. Best thing is it will also take Lang frames. Problem solved there. I do have several frames drawn out. One hive weakened last Summer too late to save. I let the other bees in the yard clean part of it out and during the dearth took rest of frames out and hung a long way off to be cleaned. I will give these back to be filled this, Summer. Last thing. These hives go together quick and easy. If you get with the program the hive itself can be built in a couple hours. I tend to run pretty slow and meticulous on my builds. Really no need for that.
  15. Will do buddy.
  16. Feed you flying fajitas too.
  17. Thanks John, Third year trying this. I feel I have learned a bunch and still am learning. More relaxed this year also.
  18. Backer boards, Both types of these hives have a backer board. There is no need to give the bees the full hive. Depending on how big the colony will be deciding on what room you give them. These boards are a stop not allowing access to the empty part of the hive. When I hand capture a swarm or trap in a swarm trap for transfer. A hand caught swarm I may give four frames again depending on size. Place stop board and as they build can give one or more frames at a time. If I catch in a swarm trap depends on how long trap has set before is moved home and how much they have already built. So, swarm traps have six or seven frames. Drop them in and add if needed. Keep your colony tight for defending from other bees robbing and hive moths/ hive beetles. Bees regulate temps in the hive and space control will help that too. Pictures of each type of backer board. first Layens. In place and slid out for placement of more frames, Same views for long Lang hive, We will talk swarm traps maybe tomorrow.
  19. Very nice Ryan, I like tying big meat. Sometimes the bigger the bait the bigger the reward,
  20. You mean you directly inject whiskey into your arm? Does that help with indigestion?
  21. I will shut up as long as you don't take fruit salad when you fish down there! 😂
  22. But just like the painter you get fumes in the form of carb cleaner and gas correct? I clean my raspatory system with fresh night air on the porch. 🤪 Reboot the brain cells too through the chrome dome shaved head at the same time. getting ready for rolling blackouts. Boy I am going to miss the electric blanket.
  23. You do remember you had to bend over also to kiss your rear goodby.
  24. Kind of! Replicas of what we seen fishing in Utah.
  25. You talking about Doug? I hear they never sleep like a boat mechanic?
