No, it isn't. Been there done that. I have tried to stand on the head. They are powerful birds and those wings flapping around will beat you to death. I have grabbed the legs and got spurred on the wrists. At the same time those wings were again flapping, and I felt like a helicopter getting ready to take flight.

Just three days left I almost let the season get past me. Later morning hunt. Worked a field with birds and they left. Picked another hay field. I only had a small site window straight out front. Heard a gobble and a pair of birds followed tight to the tree row towards me. When it appeared it was like in my face. Red dot sight placed at Base of head. That bird didn't even flop around. It was less than ten yards and it blew feathers out another ten yards. You can see in this picture the string of features blown beyond the bird, 17 1/2 pounds, 10 inch beard and 1 1/2 spurs. Still eating really well here. Pat is still baking sourdough once every two weeks. The jake she shot day before yesterday half the breast went to wild turkey enchiladas. Two meals of that so far the rest will be frozen, Today she cut up the other side and it was fried. So I give you fried wild turkey, foraged wild asparagus and a domestic baked potato from the trager pellet grill 😄. We will try to be better with the food posting. Just in case you all thought we were starving to death stop worrying. 😉
