BilletHead replied to snagged in outlet 3's topic in General Angling Discussion
Both are a fact. Catch them on flys too. Loads of fun. Very tasty fried up. I personally know that. All white meat. -
Yes but I see it mostly in wintering areas.

The Billethead's Adventure 2014

Boy that has been a few years ago. Brings back some great memories. Got a bit teary eyed reliving that trip. Sadly no trip west this year. Maybe next year If I can and if this Covid crap passes. -
Nice John or should I say Nice going Sue and Livie ? I picked four habaneros yesterday. Bright orange and deadly looking. First time growing them. Two plants loaded with green ones. Maybe I should be doing this jelly? Done it with jalapenos and liked it.

Have not really looked yet. The second cool snap we had I did see a couple on a farm pond at a distance. Lots of local geese. Have you looked yet? I may do a drive to the local parks in a couple weeks. Probably will not hunt there but gives me an idea if anything is around. -
Hummm, Wonder who does than? No name like it is attached to a specific wildlife area? Suppose I could check with the Eldorado Springs MDC office.

Thank you for checking on this . It is the 82 highway boat ramp on the Sac river. Just upstream from the Sac and Osage confluence. On Truman lake proper. Lake boundary is five or so miles above the ramp.

I told them you were my Amish wingman! The key to the good diet is growing and killing and cleaning it yourself. All that you are able too where you are located. Can't do too much of that in the city, city boys! .

Saw this bad boy today @snagged in outlet 3, So I always see cottonmouths where I went this morning. Spring and Fall. At times you will have several in view in particular near a bluff where I suspect they are heading out of in Spring and getting ready to return in the fall to hibernate or go dormant. I seen this fatty and all I had with me today was the cell phone so I did my best. First pic was the drive by, Then I could not get close again for a closeup. Tried and tried no luck. Finally I just headed towards him and as it slid underneath I boat I turned off the jet and just waited for it to come out of one side of the boat. It did and I got a couple more shots as it headed for shore and away from the thing pestering it, I like them -

it is really neat John Ness. Mornings and evenings the sound of all of them is amazing. Pat fills them when she gets home from work and they are swarming her. Surprised we haven't got an eye poked . -
I totally agree this is a bad deal! I ran upon one of my own today. I have been using this ramp for many, many years. It is on Truman lake. I remember when this lake was put in and this ramp had a dumpster, dawn to dusk light and a nice restroom. Back then there was one for the men and women. Soon the dumpster disappeared. I kind of understood that as it was very abused. Then light and restroom vanished. So this brought toilet paper and crap in the surrounding brush and timber. Not only toilet paper but anything that could be used to wipe the rear and some of that did not disintegrate. A few years back another unisex pit toilet was installed. A nice one of you could call a pit toilet nice. Concrete and it even had a urinal so the seat did not get trashed. Concrete walkway to the thing from the asphalt. I decide to run up the river this morning. Right in front of the truck it is gone. All of it. Area worked over and wheat straw on the place. This is a very, very busy ramp. When crappie, white bass and snagging is hot the ramp is over flowed with rigs and even spread out on the highway. I a couple times could not find a place to park safe and turned back home. i called a friend who said it was there a month ago. There is already messes of crap all around the place where I parked this morning. When I left there were five other rigs in the lot and it is the time of the year when fishing can be crappy no pun intended! So to our corps liaison @MOPanfisher What the heck is going on? Can you tell us what you know? There is no other ramp in this area with facilities for people to use. One by 20 river miles but with a pit toilet but it is on a conservation area ramp. For all I know it could be gone too/ This place will soon be a nasty mess of a place .

Yes and proud of it. No Cosco for us. Shopping in the outdoors for proteins. Garden for veggies. Had our first pear harvest. Picked them all yesterday and put in paper sacks then into crisper drawer for cold period. Take a few of them them out and again in paper sacks to ripen. Internet is the Amish wannnabe's friend. Now trips to the local wally world for sugar. Been through at least 50 pounds for the hummingbirds. It has been a banner year for the little guys. -
Treating those little fishes bad like that. Where is @fishinwrench ? Those fish in a ziplock is no different than stinkin' mundane bass in a live well. For all we know you are carrying those fish around in the bags and releasing in another part of the stream. Confusing them. Soon they will not act like a normal micro fish and start acting funny like a mutt. Bringing bad things to the purebred micros. Yes now @Johnsfolly I am putting you in the same league as a tournament fisherman although you wont be winning by size. #sizematters .

That's good to hear! On second thought them there city folk would probably be welcome at @oneshot or @oneshot 1 neck of the woods. When you all bring down your women folk he would charm the socks off of them. Pretty soon those city gals would be barefoot running round them hills screaming HOWDEE like Minnie Pearl .
