  1. You heard it right here folks. When you mess up your boats and motors go see Wrench. His Marriage depends on it. I will help him out all I can, BilletHead You know buddy pellets come in all sizes not just .17 or.22. I imagine she would of liked the size of nutritional pellets I fed my horse. A couple inches long and as big around as your thumb. . BilletHead
  2. Throw a tiny, tiny jig in the spring or the tail race below dams. If you really want to just catch them put on a lead slab spoon and snag then in the same tailrace, BilletHead Been there done that and witnessed others doing the same. At the same place MoCarp has these photos taken. I am sure some of the same years MoCarp was there. i am surprised we did not cross paths, actually we may of , BilletHead

John, I am not good at this either but If I have the problem you are talking about on my phone or compact camera I get back and then zoom in. Seems like the distance diffuses the flash some. This is a tip from your non photographer hack friend, BilletHead

You are getting pretty good at the picture thing. Good job Chef John. That is a pretty good market you go to. Climate controlled and dark and damp with the perfect compost for picking fungus! Wish I had a market like that in BilletHeadVille, BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

I do too but oh my that moldy blue cheese does things for me. Do like vinegar based dressings too. Mrs. BilletHead read a deal the other day. The last little bit in your jam jars, add some vinegar and shake it up. Then an equal amount of oil and some S&P. Shake some more. Drizzle that on your salad. Did you make it yourself? Let me tell you something buddy . If I can cut someone out of the food chain so to say I will, that and I like to cook. So doing this I would rather Mrs. BilletHead or myself handle my meat whenever possible! HA . I believe your chicken was perfect but I know mine was , BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

Sous Vide, I love you and where have you been all my life ? So had some of that store bought chicken thighs left from yesterday. Bought the bulk pack. Been hankering to do some fried chicken right out of the sous vide cooker. What a good deal. Three hours at 155 degrees. Pull it and coat with your choice of breading. In the dutch oven hot oil for just long enough to your desired coating color. No overdone or underdone chicken. It was cooked just right out of the sous vide cooker, A salad and chicken and I was happy , Doesn't take too much to make the BilletHead's happy!

  11. Nice report John! The mudpuppy is a nice surprise. We would catch three or four every trip with shad guts fishing for channel cat on the Osage above Taberville during the winter. They like river worms too. Fist one I caught I had no idea what it was and wouldn't touch it Tell you another thing when trying to remove the hook they will bite and bite hard. Clamp on like a bullhead would. Again neat trip report, BilletHead
  12. Man screws up enough buy thinking this could be a good thing killing them this way. So if this happens and some survive to continue breeding would they develop a resistance to herpes? What we need is sterilization. If they were not introduced there would not be a problem right? BilletHead
  13. So the carp are costing the economy 500 million bucks a year from being there. How do you take care of their damage? Wonder what cumulative damage they are considered to do over here? BilletHead
  14. Good or bad? They are fighting them in Australia too, https://globalnews.ca/news/4047414/australia-carp-herpes-virus/ BilletHead
  15. It is sad Wrench but still we have to grin at some things that happen. it is a catch 22. Darned if you do and darned if you don't. Mom has nineteen acres. She and dad always called it a twenty. Now she is all upset. She thinks someone has stolen an acre from her. My sisters and I try to explain to her the deal. She still gets mad it has been thieved from her. We have learned to try to sway her to another subject and she begins to ask for a car. Then we work to another subject. She is still at home and will not budge to go anywhere. When I call if I get no answer or if the phone is busy I drive over. It is either she lost the phone and cannot find it or forgets to hang it up after talking. It is scary. She once raked leaves and burned them under the soffit on the back of the house (basement home). Melted the vinyl soffit. I could tell so many stories, must be patient as we will all get this way at sometime in our life. When we hear about having a second childhood it is the truth. Mom is in hers, BilletHead
  16. Great outing man, What few smallmouth I have caught do put up a fight. So catching many nice fish like this would be like going to battle, BilletHead
  17. Oh the possibilities, I can see you flying chum out over your favorite carp hole on the James. Dropping it in the right spot and slaying the big beasts. Camo the drone and put mufflers on it so you can be stealthy, . Seriously it could be a great tool as John said for scouting things like routs on the river and potential fishing spots ahead on a stream you are not familiar with, BilletHead
  18. I will make sure I get them taken away when I begin to think they are a bb gun. Had to take moms vehicle away last Summer. She keeps asking for another one. It has progressed real fast. In a five minute discussion I hear the same thing five times. We all need to prepare for things like this. Seriously be good to your children, they will be taking care of us. Glad we only have BilletHead Junior. There will be no family fights on how we end up . Told him i would be sure he gets all the bills involved too, BilletHead
  19. Cool Beans Ronnie! Is it hard to fly? I would be scared It would crash and burn. is it one of those that floats? That would be the second problem, sinking , BilletHead
  20. Yep my mother is dealing with the same thing badly. The nut doesn't fall far from the tree so I suppose I will deal with it myself someday. Mrs. BilletHead and I had a talk about it today as a matter of a fact. BilletHead
  21. Yes by all means get it recalibrated because carp weigh much more in Texas. Surprised you are not living down there because they have a trophy water down there, BilletHead
  22. . Bet the carp bait was already sold out there. All those Bass Pro guys buy bait in the south part of town so they won't bee seen, BilletHead
  23. How old are you oneshot? Good thing second wife is saying no to a boat. BilletHead
