  1. I bet pretty good. Smoke first for awhile and then into standard dehydrator. Reconstitute for can we say Smoky morel soup 😄. We use dry an ground into a powder mushrooms to add earthyness flavor to dishes.
  2. Give me a few days and I will. 😉
  3. So you were up there. We need to stop missing each other so we can visit a bit.
  4. A small ball of the same dubbing used as the body.
  5. Just something that was bugging me to make. Another crawfish pattern. Ended up doing three colors. Burnt orange, olive and muddy brown. Pretty easy tie and if anyone wants to see how I did it I would do a step by step. Simple ingredients. Hook with a bead, pine squirrel, thread color of choice and craw dub by waspi. Anything you like in dubbing. I think this is a good sculpin imatation too. I have a color thought for that. VID_20240420_075340465.mp4
  6. Two full trays. Getting tired of eating them.
  7. I'm betting it will be a plan and happen!
  8. Thanks for posting that John. Franky at this point I'm not worried. People get sick and die from listeria by eating vegetables. We all have much better chance of dying by driving down the road than CWD and other things that should be feared more.
  9. Getting people in the outdoors is what it's all about. We on here are very knowledgeable on outdoor stuff. The majority of people in this state are not outdoorsy. I think we tend to forget that. MDC is not only for us. It may spark an interest in someone and become a hunter or fisherman. This statement will make many of you mad. I hear so many gripe how busy the outdoors are. It's for everyone. I had no one to really pass down a real Hunt and fish deal. I taught myself. Newbies need help. No questions are stupid if someone wants to learn. Remember you learned from someone. I started at 17 years old. The outdoors kept me out of trouble.
  10. You going to see James Taylor? You lucky dog. Maybe we will see you there.😁
  11. Yes it's quite a deal.
  12. When I planted turnips in my deer food plot I would pick a couple little ones. Peel and eat while hunting. @bfishn they are tasty! RAW
  13. Did you know if you would have got the lifetime fishing permit when you were 60 it is included. Yes, I know you don't need a fishing permit now at your age now.
  14. I bet white bass would eat it even if it doesn't emit anything.
  15. Keeping mom in a constant routine is the best thing. She sleeps a lot. In an hour conversation you will hear the same thing ten times. As long as she does not hurt and suffers, I am good if she outlasts me. She beat covid and a broken hip at the same time. Sad but funny her sister, my aunt that just passed was here three months ago. The sisters got together for a visit. The two of them had a long conversation. No one knew exactly what they were talking about but those two seemed to understand what each were saying.
  16. And we are seeing our potential future. It is getting closer than we think.
  17. Another good reason to see them while you can! We seen that on the news this evening.
  18. Do you think anyone chose to have a colonoscopy instead of going to Woodstock?

  20. To our scientists on here and our closet scientists who don't want to admit it what do you guys think of the bearded clouser being weakly electrically charged? What fish here in the Midwest could possibly be affected by this fly? BEARDED CLOUSER | The Mission Fly Fishing Magazine (themissionflymag.com)
  21. It was a kicking and screaming ha, ha, of the crazy part of loosing your mind. My mom has dementia. Forgets so much and remembers so much of that makes sense. Suffering from it for years and she knows she is losing it. Seems pretty happy and remembers all of us kids. Had it for years but on the other hand her sister my aunt just passed a couple weeks ago. Same thing but hers was very fast. Forgetting so much quickly. Just a stare off into the distance with no focus. Quit eating and did not want anyone to help her with anything. It was hospice next and all that goes with that.
  22. You don't want to know what I have to say about that because you will think I am picking directly on you. I personally know of one aunt from my moms sides family that all are dying young because of the way they treat themselves. Only one has made it to over 70. All but one had a good mind at their age of death. Bingo you have that pegged to a tee. Again you have to take care of yourself to get to that point. When and if I make it to that point, I am ready to go. You know what they say you come into this world kicking and screaming. If you live long enough that is the way you go out.
  23. I totally understand that statement but it's like this. Everyone hears bad things and scream to high heaven, and it spreads like wildfire. There are so many stories that go unnoticed because that screaming does not go on with success stories. It was not too many years ago that people died of all kinds of cancer. They did so silently because it just happened and it was a way of life. If caught early because of good doctors being on top of things and the strides in science those in the past could have a longer life. Way back when mothers and babies died from the birthing process. Go to an old, old cemetery. Look at the ages when people died. It's on the headstones. Then compare to newer birth and death dates. As much as it would be neat to live in the past, I would want to do it now in a time machine only temporary. Would it not be cool to see a saber tooth tiger only to have it eat you for dinner? 😁 Life expediency was not very high.
