You may want to pull your prop off and see if full of fishing line I had that same problem and had a bunch wrapped around causing intermittent tightening.

nancy, your profile says.......

i believe the wind also happens to play havoc with the current. Many times fishing, i can go around a corner and the water is flowing a whole different way. So, between the current and the wind, that may have something to do with how all the logs end up in one area. But that is just a guess. 40 miles from the dam, sounds like a stretch to be impacting current.

During the flood years, we would launch at the viney creek ramp. The steep one, on the right where you just come into the park, by the booth. Never had any problems launching there.

The first picture showing the out house, my neighbor and I fished in 2011. We fished the roof, which covered and under water. I guess you could say, we didn't catch &$%#

God Bless You and Yours. Hey, guys, let's talk about some fishing? What's a ned rig?
-
Can you eat what you catch with it?
-
Aren't you going to eat him?

Here are some random thoughts. 1-Why can't the MDC rotate stocking of lakes? One year, bass at TR, another year walleye, etc? Same with other lakes. Why is it they will only stock one fish per lake, like spoonbills in TR? The MDC seems limited in their approach. Let nature sort it out what population survives. Why can't the MDC stock Stripers, Wipers, Musky, Walleyes, white bass, black bass, kentucky's, small mouth, largemouth, Catfish, crappie and trout? Could you imagine a lake with all of those different fish, in different parts of the lake, at different times of the years. 2- Here is a fact. The economy will be better off if fishermen go out to eat fish, than catching and keeping for themselves. Support your local fish fry! 3- Those fish you pull out of the lake are geometrically gone for generations. 4- I'm not that good of a fisherman, so leave all those fish you want for the fryer, for me to catch and release. 5.Something needs to be done about over population of Gar and Carp. Where is the MDC on that? Absent! The bow fishermen finally do something about it and everyone on this site complains. 6-Bleeding fish need to be thrown back, for other animals to have. 7-Let's change the subject. What's a ned rig? 8-Champ, that's a joke.

I believe it was Yogi Berra that said it best. "No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded"

thanks for the tip on the inhibitor strips. Found them in the tool storage dept at Mennards fro only $4.99 a package.

Nice trout! Question... would one need a trout stamp to keep that fish?
-
Could be gar? LOL

If i don't stop, it's 5 hours for me. It's like Christmas Eve going there and when i get there it's like Christmas Day. I love it.. we are truely blessed to have great fishery, clean water and a body of water not visible with docks and homes. Plus in the summertime, the boating and swimming, along with some crowds is ok too.

isn't the attraction of the ned rig the fact there is no action?

As a fashion statement or just a cool apparel statement, I put these Jerseys right below bowling shirts.

It's great to see that some of the fishermen are involved with charitable events, some with sponsors, some wanna bee-s, (and please don't take this the wrong way), but Champ was right. You ALL still look like goobers.......that doesn't change. LOL

Thanks for the opinions. I fish and watch the depth finder religiously when fishing up front. I mostly fish using the trolling motor. I do appreciate your opinions.

I am very much interested in hearing some different opinions on placement of my new Lowrance Elite-5 dept finder. I currently have a very old Eagle Utlra on the front of my boat and an older rather inexpensive console Humingbird on the console. The Hummingbird console unit no longer works. Should i put the combo on the front trolling motor and the old Eagle on the console? Or should i leave the Eagle on the front trolling motor and place the new combo on my console? I am thinking for precise viewing while fishing, having the new Lowrance on the trolling motor will provide much more accuracy, while i sit up front. Yet having the new Lowrance on the console helps me with GPS and finding fish while driving. I have also seen ram mounts that could work and allow me to turn the Lowrance towards the front of the boat and view it through the windshield. Anyone have any preferences or see advantages of placement?

I guess we should have a discussion on, "will the loons or gulls hit on a Ned rig? Seriously, I want to thank everyone on this forum for sharing this past year. As a pt resident and fisherman, seeing and reading these posts really takes my mind off of the daily work grind. Hopefully this year, I will begin to use everything that has been posted and be able to share what is working. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Holidays

Well, as a pt resident of mo and a full time resident of ks, I made this assessment to determine where I register my boat. The mo site states that if you have your boat in the state of mo, for more than 60 consecutive days you must register. I have an older boat. So, where I pay the pp and other fees is ks. I don't keep my boat in the water, instead at my lake house in mo. I currently don't have to buy plates for my trailer in ks and would have to in mo. I currently don't have to register my motor in ks and would have to in mo I would have to change my registration numbers on my boat and have to buy new letters. It's also not worth the hassle to change it over. Even thou I own a home in mo, I cannot get resident status for my fishing license. Even thou I pay many different taxes in mo. So, I will keep my boat registered in ks until mo allows me to buy my annual fishing license as a resident. I don't feel the state can expect me to pay fees and taxes on my boat and not allow me the resident status. I guess I will just need to continue to motor my boat or drive over the border every 59 days. It's just the principal of it. I'm sure that the state can do without my meager taxes, but if everyone did this, maybe we could get resident status for our fishing license when we stay in mo for over 60 days too. But I doubt it. But then again, we're dealing with a government, not "for the people"

What is everyone's theory for the entire year to be so tough. No fish kill off that i could see. Floods of 2008 and 2010 should have made a positive ifference for this year's fish AT 15"+. Was the fishing pressure the cause? Top water bite wasn't as good as the past few years. White bass on top and few or far between. a Almost non-existent. i think there was way too much shad in the lake and the bass were lazy, on the bottoms getting fat. Walleye fishing was a tad better this year than past. Is the lake changing? With all the "fish attractors" in the lake that the corp put in the last few years, is the structure changing and making it different? Any one have an idea?

Hmm. Looks like a fluke
