At around the 1:50 mark the graphics come up and say that Greg was unconscious in the water for 10 minutes? What the heck were the guys in the camera boat doing for 10 minutes?

I live right where Fisher Creek hits the main channel and I fish the areas you mentioned quite often. I would start with a redfin at first light. Try it in the first cove on the left in White's branch (just past Gobbler Mountain resort) Have caught several big K's and some nice SMJ in 20-40' over the trees that run out from the gravel point in the center of cove. Also try up shallow on the left side of the gravel point with the "usual suspects" -Fish doctor/Grub/shaky head I would work a Fish Doctor and or grub on the pea gravel on either side of Pt 7, and on either side of the mouth of Schooner. Back in Schooner, all of the secondary points with gravel are usually good Fisher has also been getting a lot of pressure, especially in the backs of both branches. Try shaky head/fish doctor on the 'nothing-looking' banks with mixture of pea gravel and chunk. I love the bubble gum floating worm in the spawning areas in Fisher, too! White, weightless fluke on a #5 Gamakatsu is working well for me on deep end of shaded docks or just inside the stalls in 12-20'. Could go on, but this should give you a start.

"It's a thing with fins that swims in the water, and please don't call me Doctor" http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_7512____SearchResults Green Pumpkin is probably my favorite for Table Rock. I rig it on a #1 or #2 Gamakatsu round bend hook with a small split shot or other type of sinker from 12"-18" up. Light line, 6 or 8 is best. You can just drag it slowly, shake it a bit now and then. Hits can be pretty light, or smallies will sometimes just pick it up and run with it. Have caught more fish with it than any other bait over the years.

Well, the Watermelon Candy Zoom finesse worms are plentiful! Can get em at Wally World! Just cut em in half, fuse two top halves together and slice off a sliver lengthwise to get the flat side and 'Voila', you have a Fish Doctor!

Fished KC area Saturday from 1 PM-5PM and Sunday from 10:30 AM-1 PM. Saturday had about 25 total, 3 keepers (1 smallie and 2 K's) 1 of the keepers and 15 of the total came off of the shady side of an 8 slip isolated dock that ran out into 35'. Went back to same dock about noon today and first cast to the deep end of dock netted this 5.1 beauty! (sorry pic is so bad!) Caught 10 or 12 more, all shorts, off same dock and then called it quits. All my fish were on a 4' smoke w/red flake grub on 6 lb line.

I can't remember who told me this, but it goes along with what was said about the cold winter. Apparently, there are small plants/organisms that are always present in the shallow water. (less than 30 feet) It creates a silty layer over everything. The moss can't or won't develop when these organisms are present. When we have the extreme cold, those organisms die off and that allows the moss to attach, grow and flourish. Sorta makes sense? The septic run-off, fertilizer, etc may help the cause, but I remember seeing this stuff 30+ years ago too.

I did a similar thing in 98. bought a 95 Johnson 200 that was new in the box. Still running well today. No problems. Good maintenance is the key! Good idea bout swapping impeller, though! I imagine all other fluids and grease are put in fresh by the dealer? (lower unit, steering, trim piston, etc)

Ready for jerkbaits anyone? May give it a go? Will also try grub or spoon if I can find the deep guys! Thinkin about that jighead fluke thing in this month's Bassmasters. Can't see why it wouldn't work here?

With as many people who love your videos, I could see a great advertising venue for both of you! White River Lodge and Lilley's Landing present "Fishin with Babler". Post at least 1 new fishing video per week on your website. I doubt that your daily clients would mind having a 3rd guy in the boat, if they can see themselves fishing on a video. You might even get some other local advertisers to kick in? Others could fish vicariously through you on the videos. Some might even be willing to pay a modest annual or monthly subscription fee to see the "how to's" and "tips from the experts". I know a guy who could set it up for you, or you could probably do it yourself?

Fished about 4 hours Saturday and again today. As Babler said, nothing much happening at the 45' depth on flat tops. Searched all over, picked up 2 shorts and a goggle-eye. Dragged a FB jig, one good hit, missed him! Started fluttering a spoon down the bluffs yesterday and got a few late in the day. I was sittin in 50'-60' and workin it down the face. So today, I worked the spoon straight down and got some nice K's in 28'-35' tight to the bluffs. Fished the bluff directly across from Pt 9 and caught nine keepers, 14 total on a 3/4 oz chartreuse spoon. Went up the White a mile or so and had 4 more keepers on the bluff across from the island, again tight to the bluff in same depth.

Mine did the same thing yesterday? Didn't notice it until I had the Sun shining right on it for a while. Maybe the heat on the screen from the Sun combined with the cold air caused it. Kinda like hot breath on a cold mirror? Laid it flat overnight on boat deck. Today it was fine!

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I think the transducer just needed a good polishing? Worked great this weekend! Not one problem!

I have an Eagle 480 Fishmark mounted on my trolling motor, which has been a good unit for me until lately. Sometimes it's right on, works fine and then it will jump around to 227' or 431' or some strange depth? At first I though I was getting interference from my other unit, but even when I power the other one off it does it. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when it happens. I have checked everything I know to check? Any ideas? Sound like a bad transducer or cable? Or should I take the unit in for repair?

Anyone want to predict any patterns for the next few days? Looks like nice weather, and that's usually not a good thing! I'm thinkin deep? Spoons, drop shots and grubs. Maybe FB jig for some smallies?

You talkin about Buttermilk up the James? That's a long way from Joe Bald?

Had a decent 3 hours today fishing shady side of docks with a Gitzit (tube bait, for you younger guys!) Anyone remember the old Fat Gitzit that Bobby Garland made famous? Man, that thing would catch some fish! I fooled around with one today and caught a few smallies(one 16"), just for old times sake. I took a tube in green pumpkin, cut off the top of the same color Large Hula Grub (Chompers) and fused it to the top with a Bic lighter. Make sure you heat up the tube, not the Chompers! You can also create the same look by cutting another tube in half and take the bottom half (tentacles) and flipping it upside down and fusing it to the top of the full tube. I just like the Chompers better! Feed it onto any type jighead. I use a small Football head. Works well on gravel flats or stair-stepping down flat rock ledges. Anyway, I caught 3 other keeps today (2 LM, 1 Spot) and maybe 8-10 others while pitchin the Gitzit around shady docks. Most of them seemed to be just inside the slips in 10-18', or up shallow near the walkways. I was using a tube that is primarily shad color (Grey with the big silver glittery flakes). I stuff some small packing peanuts inside the tube after I feed it on the jighead. Gives it a little more buoyancy. Not sure this is any kind of pattern, but they were joltin it pretty good.

It's headed our way! Could be a clean-up shower or a clear-up shower? In the Ozarks, a clean-up shower is when it's a nice soft rain, and you go outside and stand in it and you clean up! A clear-up shower is when it rains so hard that the water is clear up over your ankles!

I fished from 2:30 PM -6 Pm Saturday from Fisher Creek up to Pt 9, hit about 4 or 5 of my favorite spots. Found a nice flat near bluff end and caught a 3.4 and 3.7 SMJ on a rig in 18-20'. Several shorts on a jig, and one MONSTER LM that broke me off at the boat on a smoke w/red flake 4" grub. He was sittin in about 3-4' right next to a a pile of "stuff" that was floating in a little cut on a bluff wall. Caught quite a few more K's on that wall on the grub. 2 keeps. They would come out and get it as soon as I let it drop off the ledge. Moved out and tried the drop shot. 1 more keeper and the biggest bluegill I've seen in a while? the next 2 weeks should be interesting? Fish seem to be scattered at all depths?

which adds even more credence to my earlier post about the big boats. "Clown Jerkbaits" is my new name for them! (At least that's cleaner than what I actually yell at them as my trolling motor spins 3 feet out of the water!)

I paid about $100 for Jiffy-Lube to do a "fuel system clean" on my Suburban, which included a new fuel filter. I do get about 2 more MPG now and it runs much better! It looked like they hooked up some pressurized tube to my fuel line and basically did what I just did for my outboard? 1 pint of Seafoam is about $9 at O'Reilly's (Gallon is $54-much better deal if you use it on all of your engines) 1 gallon of gas is $2.50. 1 fuel filter is $7 So, basically I could have done the same thing for under $20? Live and learn!

Also, make sure you find pictures of the new breed of boater we now have on Table rock! You now, the ones with the cigarette boats and the ocean-going cruisers? Best color for them? CLOWN !

My 1995 Johnson 200 was running a little rough, especially at idle, and particularly when starting cold. Checked plugs, idle, oil pump, etc and ran some carb cleaner through it, no better. Put some Seafoam in the tank and it seemed to be a bit better, but still sputtering? Talked to a buddy of mine and he said to "shock the engine". Put 1 pint of Seafoam and a gallon of fresh gas into a small gas jug I use for the lawn mower. Unhooked fuel line from main tank and ran it into the small jug, securing it with duct tape so it wouldn't pull out. Cranked engine and ran it at high idle for 10 minutes, let it sit for a half hour, then 10 more minutes. (You have to keep it fairly revved up or it will die with this rich mix) Hooked everything back up, cranked her up and she smoked pretty good for a while. Ran like new! No sputtering, perfect at idle. The ultimate carbon clean, I guess? Tried same trick with my lawnmower. Worked like a charm. I got so excited, I wanted to cut the grass, but it didn't need it!

They're currently running over 12,000 cfs, down from over 14,000 yesterday. Think about that! That's equivalent to 4 swimming pools (30' X 15' X 7'deep) every second!

If the Corps continues it's current rate of draw, the level should be down to 917 by Saturday or Sunday, which is about where it was before the monsoon.

She's at 922.77 early this morning, down slightly from yesterday.
