  1. see highlighted text above Do we know if that happened here?
  2. Drain the Swamp! So tired of these bureaucrats trying to reassure us with their numbers mumbo jumbo! Their (COE) statement on Friday was pure garbage! How about this "book": "IT IS RAINING AND IT IS GONNA KEEP ON RAINING FOR 2 MORE DAYS"! Reminds me of the line (paraphrased) from a Woody Allen movie: "My Brother thinks he's a chicken. We were going to take him to a psychiatrist, but we need the eggs"
  3. I guess the ---- at midnight is the COE's way of saying "WTF do we do now"? 5. Well, there's that! And the fact that the picture was taken in what appears to be sunlight, which we ain't seen today! And the water wasn't that high at sundown today.
  6. that's from 2011 http://www.hwy-13.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8218
  7. I'm thinking that's from the last flood?
  8. That's the Kimberling City Bridge? When was this pic taken?
  9. might consider hiring a guide instead of rental boat? It can be expensive if you plan on more than one day, but it's the way to go, IMO. Gary + Lorene Watson (owners of Whispering Woods) are my neighbors. Great location on the water with some nice views of the KC bridge. about 15 minutes into KC, Harter House, etc. Pretty sure Gary has at least one aluminum bass boat? Problem might be availibility as that is a busy time of year? But, not really very close to Rock Lane or that area. Plenty of places near Indian Point, I'm sure?
  10. Or, if you have access to a grill, go to Harter House and pick up a Tri-Tip sirloin roast. Have them coat it with Pappy's Garlic Herb Seasoning. Sear on both sides and then cook it fat side up over indirect heat. (directions on package) Grab a loaf of Italian bread, a bag of salad and some dressing, and of course, a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's! The leftover meat makes a great sandwich, hot or cold, the next day.
  11. Shad Balls? I think there's a cream that you can use to clear that up? Might be made by Uncle Josh?
  12. I'm sure you are right about that. I have caught plenty of pre-spawn fish on a spoon in the cedars over the years, but it might be a bit early, and it sounds like the swimbait is a much better choice?
  13. pumping a spoon through the treetops can work in the same way long cast and let it flutter down and then yo-yo it back to the boat Bill Beck showed me that trick many years ago
  14. Love your sweatshirt! I assume the "N" stands for Ned rig?
  15. I keep them rigged and in the original bag, but I don't stretch them out until I'm ready to use them. Stretching them releases the salt, which is the culprit for rusted hooks and messy plastic boxes.
  16. ask Champ188 which ones he uses! I think it's the brand that comes with a free boat wrap and a jersey emblem?
  17. I was thinking the exact same thing! Thinking Muskie or Pike would eat that up?
  18. I rarely weigh fish, but I would guess 7.5-8 lbs on the 2 biggest bass I have caught. One was at night before the kill on a black 10" worm, and the other was after the kill on a WW. I will say I enjoy the post-kill fishing more with the increase in the smallies. The number of 3-4+ lb ers in the lake is amazing! Give me a couple of those on every trip and I am a happy guy!
  19. fished from the dock on Christmas Day. The K's and Brownies were stacked up in 5-8 FOW in front of chunk rock. PB & J NED got me two 3lb+ brownies, 1 nice fat K and several others in the 14-16" range. Didn't have my phone nearby for the brown guys, but they had shoulders!
  20. We should invite some of our forum members over for dinner?
  21. 22. Ditto on the Infrared UA! Stuff is amazing. I have the tops & bottoms. a tight-knit wool sweater over the UA and a quilted BP hooded jacket is all I need on top. Old pair of sweatpants over the UA and then a rainsuit bottom. Not stylin', but warm. Another trick that works for me is to "march" on the deck for a few minutes just before headin out to next spot. Looks silly as heck, but it gets the blood pumpin.
