  1. Smiling Mallard, You are right about changing the regulations. The problem is that we are not considered "smart enough" to tell the difference. That is one of the excuses about the Kentuckies having their own category and length limit. I say simply this, " Then are we smart enough to tell the difference in smallmouth / Largemouth/kentuckies/ every other kind of Bass?? Walcrabass
  2. Curtisce, You are correct but the regulation applies to all of the "White Bass Fishes" irregardless of whether the waters contain the hybrids or not. It is certainly possible to catch "regular white bass" that are 18" although that is quite a tank !!! Walcrabass
  3. So............... Orleans Trail and Mutton Creek charge now??? Wally
  4. Everyone, The White Bass ( and other ) fishing is on Fire right now !!! Good fishing can get us all in trouble though if we are not careful. White Bass, daily limit I believe is 15. No more that 4 that are over 18" . Don't want anyone leaving the lake with more than they counted on................... Like a nice ticket to pay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wally
  5. FishPharm, Are all the ramps at Stockton charging a fee now?? Wally
  6. Spring Mallard, Very nice accomplishments !!! Especially the Turkey with a bow stuff !! Just one question..................... Are you retired??? Walcrabass
  7. Here are some words from an old guy........................... What color Jerk Bait is best?????? The one you are fishing with................... Only stipulation might be flashy ones on clear day and clear water, dull or natural colors on other days/ water. I have seen the Rebel Tennessee Shad pattern make fools of other fishermen in the boat, I have seen the Clown Rogue pattern make fools of other fishermen in the boat, I have seen the Black/Silver or Blue/Silver make fools of other fishermen in the boat. I have seen the $30 Jerk baits make fools of a lot of other Fishermen ( for buying them that is............) Just look at the sky, look at the water, and make a good decision. Then fish them in many different ways until you find what they want. Walcrabass
  8. I think he is talking about the spring off of some ones mattress that they threw off the bridge....................................
  9. Just curious...................... what are your first names ??
  10. Waterpossum, You may be right................... Fire Ants.................... probably getting close to the water in case the Fire gets out of control............... Walcrabass
  11. Grizwilson, Honestly, if and when I catch a keeper Kentucky in Table Rock, and sometimes I do, I make ABSOLUTELY SURE, that they go to the grease ( or some other cooking method) !!!!! Walcrabass
  12. MoCarp, On page 2 of this you had some great comments. I would like to say that: 18" Smallmouth ---------- 1 per day 12" Spots----------------- No Limit per day ( 11" would be better as they as spawning by this time ) 12" Crappie---------------------- 10 per day River strain walleye were definitely better fish way back when they were in the lake Yellow Perch--------------------- very interesting, great idea !!! All great comments, wish money/blindness/hillbilly Mo. thinking did not get in the way and these things would happen, no reason for them not to happen............. Walcrabass
  13. MoCarp, I think it would be great if you could "mark" those areas on a map and send it to the forum. Thanks, Walcrabass
  14. MoCarp, Now you have my interest.............. 1. How long ago did they seed the Weed beds on Stockton? 2. Which area of the lake are they located? Walcrabass
  15. Kayaker, There is a small place to launch in Greaser Cove. Pretty protected cove at the back. Also might try launching at Hawker Campground area and fishing back in that cove. Might take a look at State Park Cove. There is some area at the back of that one too that is suitable for Kayaking. Walcrabass
  16. Crappie? Speaking of 12 ( consecutive months that is...........) I sure wish the MDC would have began raising the length to 12" back about 5 years ago. Stockton is quite capable of producing this size of Crappie. If this had been done I believe we would have a "Crappie Fisherman's Dream" at this lake by now. Don't get me wrong............... there are other lakes that could do the same....... For some years I have been reading about length limits on other lakes. Even lakes that require you to take each Crappie you catch during the winter months. Very interesting stuff. Walcrabass
  17. Oberst, Looks like you are an accomplished hunter and fisherman. My kind of person. Especially making a long trip to enjoy the fishing !!! Glad to see you actually "Bow Hunt". Much more authentic than the Cross Bows and Compounds. My hat is off to you. Walcrabass
  18. Bluebasser86, I am going to have to cast my vote for the fish in the top picture being a Smallmouth. Did you find a tooth patch on the tongue? Wally
  19. Mr. Dan, Okay you have my interest. What size/weight spoons? What is the name of your favorite color patterns? Wally
  20. Steve McBasser, Sounds like you are my kind of person. Also sounds like you have my kind of boat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Walcrabass
  21. Ketchup, And you caught them with ????????????????? Walcrabass
  22. Chief Grey Bear is correct.
  23. Johnsfolly, You are absolutely correct. I hope the MDC doesn't see your post or they will be wanting to release Wolves in Missouri to keep the Otters in balance. Wouldn't that be great??? Just think they could rip their way into Turkey houses, kill calves AND Full grown Cattle, Eat peoples dogs and Cats, and take down the Coyote population. What a great idea !!!!!!!!! And then they could sell Wolf Tags to create more revenue for the Department and wouldn't even have to worry about paying damages for their destruction. Why didn't I think of this?? Walcrabass
  24. Flysmallie, No a Farm Pond is not a Large Reservoir. However, a Reservoir IS a large Pond. I guess I am just tired of the Tree Huggers and the Sight See-ers thinking "Nature will take of itself" where it diminishes my fishing opportunities and the property ( yes stocked fish are property, expensive property ) of others. I cannot stand to see Cattle Ranchers losing livestock to Wolves that were planted or Land owners losing their fish to an Animal that was released upon them. Believe me if there were a critter that was stocked into our environment that was able to consume the dollar bills in our wallets and we were not allowed to eradicate it there would be a huge outcry for their extinction. ( Please don't anybody mention Politicians since I used wallets, dollar bills, and nothing we could do about it. ) Walcrabass
  25. Kramr, Nice article. Proves my point. Thank you very much. Walcrabass
