I can sympathize with you on this one. I was standing in my kitchen window at my parents house, same thing...hair starts to stand up on edge then just white light, no sounds for a second or two then just crippling loudness and complete overall confusion. Lighting hit the laundry pole in our backyard about 25'-30' from where I was standing. Definitly not something worth experiencing.
Orvis picked it up today...

Im also looking into tying some kern bugs, they are neat looking.
Not necessarily, the triploid rainbows I had in my aquarium would try to move and spawn in the fall. They will still have that instinct that will tell them to bred, but they wont have the full notion.
Hmm...i nebver used a threader, i have always just sucked the thread thru. Sometimes it can be alittle tricky to get it to start, but yeah, i've been doing it that way for the better part of my 15+year tying career
Send me the top one,. I know where some muskie are that I will throw it for.
I've been tying the exact opposite, size 14, 16, 18 beadhead pheasant tails, copper johns and partridge and oranges. Its time for winter trout.
No, they are very light. I have them in many sizes, from some very small ones to some really big ones and they are no heavier then the according sized lamson reels. They are coming out with a couple new reels/colors soon here, one of which is even made in the US.
Yeah a walleye would be cool. I know a place where they come in off the Mississippi to spawn, there might be some little ones there now but I need to actually go.
Mine will be in the mail Tuesday. I got all the tails done tonight and they are strung up on the front hook and coated with CCG. Going to tie the main bodies this weekend between the kiddo napping and then I'll be done.
I dont have a certain place to post this, as its agrab bag of mixxed fish. This year with having a now older daughter and no drought has made it easier to get out. Here is a brief sampling of what i've been putting the flyrods to work with over the summer
