I fished out of State park today from 10:30-3:30. I fished between there and Orleans Trail. I caught 14 bass all on Zeros. They were in coves in about 6 fow. I couldn't get a bite deeper than that. I weighed my best 5. They ranged from 4.75 pounds to 2 pounds for a total of 14.5 pounds.
I had coons getting into pallets of range cubes. They would literally rip the sacks apart. I tossed some Bar Bait on the floor and wala no more torn sacks. I am no feeding it to ground hogs.
That is why I am into several revisions. Drilling with my smallest bit and putting the stainless steel wires in with Gorilla epoxy. It did not hold very long. I switched to JBWeld marine epoxy. It held better but no more than a few hours. So now I am using only 1 wire, through over and back. It can’t fall out now. I have also switched from a drill bit to a finish nail because my lead contains antimony and is quite hard and I keep breaking bits off in the jigs.
Let the buyer be ware !!!! I had a very bad experience with them. If you take a prop out, carefully inspect it for any impurities and take lots of pictures or you might get blamed for an imperfection that was already there, at least I did.
Report back please. I have been wanting to try around High Point myself.
Sealing is a matter of spraying with high temp engine enamel, waiting a day then a second coat. After the second coat two days wait is best before pouring. I don’t know how long it will last. I am looking at the BTS top injection mold. I think I can make a plate and do laminates like I used to do with the biffle bug.
Yes. I’ve put my hand pours, elaztech. brush hogs, and beavers on them . They all stand up. 3 trips to Stockton and I am still on the same jig.
I am working on this as a means to avoid deep hooked T rigged and shaky worms. So far so good. They are labor intensive but doing the job.
Yep single cavity molds are the pits. I’ve looked at angling Ai. I have some molds from them. If I bought Do It, I would buy 2 or 3 and probably seal them for a shinier finish.
Letum have it freefallin. My back seat partner likes to read books and newspapers while I fish so I’ll be waiting for the rain to get by before I get back at them. I am really having a good time with my new leggy jig but I am going to have to use something else also.
The COE has everything open. I haven’t been to Rouark but the courtesy docks where I have been were in and at a good level. Bass fishing has also been good.
I think a boat that large needs a 36 volt trolling motor. I had one similar in size with a 24 volt. It was ok but not great. I am running 36 volt now. It is way better.
You will get more functions if you match trolling motors and sonar/gps which work together.
When you buy tires get specifically trailer tires not passenger tires. Trailer tires have a much stronger sidewall.
Where are you located?
I’ve tried a lot of heads and modified a lot of molds trying to come up with a head that I like and have the confidence to use. The jig head is in its 4th and hopefully final modification. So far I have caught 25 bass on it. None have been hooked deep. All have hooked in the roof of the mouth. I am using a 4/0 hook that I modified to fit into my football jig mold.
