  1. The ones at State Park are a lot newer than those at Orleans Trail.
  2. There are some cabins just outside the town of Stockton.
  3. It appears that I need to be more observant. I may be seeing them and not realizing it.
  4. I’ve spent all my life in SWMO much of it out of doors. I don’t remember ever seeing one before. I had some meat trimmings that I put outside a while ago. A red shouldered hawk flew down and has spent the last 20 minutes eating it. I had to look it up to identify it. Are they common where you live?
  5. That is the exact information I got when I contacted them about stocking some of our ponds, they do it public, we do it private.
  6. If I were planning what you referenced I’d be asking that question of a fisheries biologist instead of on here.
  7. It is so small that I never hear or feel it passing through the guides. I used to put a bit of Sally Hansen’s on the half hitches until I started using a Rizzuto finish. I am not aware of any other application of it.
  8. My wife’s Jeep goes berserk when a tire is 2# low and starts giving warnings. It did that before we headed to Fl week before last. My garage doesn’t ever get below 54° so I don’t pay much attention to the trailer tires. It’s getting ready to warm up so I decided to check them. They call for 65# cold and were only in the mid 50s so I aired them up. Have you checked yours lately?
  9. I can understand why. It’s nearly a death wish to try bank fishing on the North side unless young and stone cold sober.
  10. I like the leader to be a couple of feet longer than the rod.
  11. I’ve found it to work well with several different spinning rods. I’m using 15# Power Pro braid with 10-12# Seaguar red label fluorocarbon line. I use the line instead of the special leader material.
  12. I’ve had 5 hand surgeries and am waiting on #6. I really like it but it took me quite a while to tie. So I decided to get the FG knot tool. The tool helped but I kept dropping the leader tag end and I had trouble serving the knot so I made a couple of gizmos to take care of those issues. No it just takes a few minutes to tie it.
  13. I’ve used braid to leader off and on for a long time. I’ve used Albright, Alberto, and uni to uni just to name a few. Every single one of them has been prone to break at the knot no matter what size leader that I am using. The only exception to that is the FG. I’ve been using it for several months. So far when I have to break off it has been at the bait. Do any of you guys use the FG?
  14. When I put wood in the stove at 02:20 we were already covered. I’m staying in and burning wood today.
  15. How is Table Rock? Is it frozen over?
  16. I have heard magic eraser works well.
  17. I don’t know about those lakes but I used to know a creel counter who worked Stockton. He told me that less than 25% of the walleye which they checked were born in the lake. The rest had been stocked.

    Hot Sauce?

That is a good one for sure.

    Hot Sauce?

I just had a Jalapeño omelet at the Breakfast Club in Perdido Key that needed some more lick. They only offered Tabasco and Louisiana sauces. Tabasco is like watered down ketchup so I chose the Louisiana. It has way too much vinegar for my taste.
  20. Maybe for you but not for me. I’m heading SE in the morning and driving until I see sand and big water.
  21. So if I am reading this correctly, everyone who responded with the exception of fishinwrench is in agreement that lithiums are the way to go. I am still not sure which to get. I would like to keep it at the cost of 2 31 agms and be able to use my MK single bank charger on it.
  22. Those Lowrances were on my Champion boat and ran off my cranking battery. I had 2 new Lowrances put on the Nitro. They did the same thing. When I switched to Hbirds I bought them at Marine Repair Center and had Scott install a 31 series agm and wire the two bow units directly to it as well as install a single bank charger for it. One battery wasn’t enough.
  23. Are they manufacturing rods now? Ark Rods in Harrison used to build them. I have one that I got from Ark that couldn’t be shipped to B&R because it was marked 7’ and was actually only 6’11”.
  24. I had 2 Lowrance hds units and they would kill a battery graveyard dead inside of a year. That happened on 2 different boats. When I switched to Humminbirds, I hooked 2 of them to a stand alone house battery and they killed it in 11 months. It was replaced under warranty. 11 months later that one was dead. It was replaced under warranty but the distributor said that he wouldn’t replace any more so I put in a second series 31 and have been doing fine. However, last time out I got a low voltage warning and had to shut one down to finish the day. A lithium 100 AH should do the job of 2 agms for about the same or less money and drop about 100 lbs.
  25. No in fact I have 2 series 31 agms running 2 Solix units. They are nearing the end and I am thinking lithium for replacement. The Verado is powered by an X2.
