  1. I doubt the line is the culprit here. Generally it is the bait or the way you close the bail. Closing the bail by hand is the best way.
  2. From my experience Pom has 2 to 3 x as many drum as Stockton. I think the way to cook them is the old method of baking them on a pine board. At least that is the way I'd be doing it.
  3. 3/8 back on the market. I'll sell entire lots for $0.75 each.
  4. I've had 2 different tandem axel trailers with my last 2 boats. I have not been able to move either one of them except to pull them forward which isn't too hard since the garage is sloped toward the front. Luckily I got to design the garage when we built this house. The floor slopes from all corners to a 9' floor drain located in he middle so I can wash boats and vehicles in the garage and the boat bay is 15X30 which gives me lots of room with a swing tongue to walk around front or back.
  5. Don't know about the "eyes" but it picked the bass fishing up for me.
  6. 3/8 sold pending payment.
  7. The 1/2 oz have been sold. Other sizes still available.
  8. Sometimes I get a bit carried away when making baits. I have accumulated way more PT jigs than I will ever use. I'll take $1 each for them or consider an offer for the lot. Shipping would have to be extra but they can be picked up in the Republic area. The first pic is the 3/8 oz. The second pic is 3/4 and 1 oz. The third pic is 1/4 oz
  9. I don't remember where I saw it but there was an article which stated that in North America only the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Erie were more dangerous than LOZ.
  10. Unless you take it on as a hobby like I have then you are absolutely correct it is cheaper to buy and a whole lot less hassle. When I started making I was doing it for 4 people. Now 20 molds later I am the only one who still fishes. But you reach a point where break even is quick after many years. For example, I got a new mold in last week. I paid $36 for it and have already made $300 worth of jigs for my neighbor and myself.
  11. (Urich in Branson West may be able to fix it quickly as well)... Does Kelly have a trolling motor tech? Fred was the tmotor guy..
  12. The nearest that I know of is Marine Repair on N. National in Springfield. Their phone # is 833-9191.
  13. I'm sure you are right on that part. I have to put an insert in my swing jig molds but it covers the eyelet hole and the hook attachment with one wire.
  14. Thanks for the link. I just couldn't imagine what kind of setup that they had to make the loop on the bottom.
  15. It is the mold that I'd like to see. I don't need any jigs like that at the present time.
  16. Where is the boat located?
  17. With a little effort and some RVT silicone you could make your own mold.
  18. That is an interesting looking jig you use. I have never seen one with a second eye for tying a stinger. I'd love to see a mold that makes those.
  19. Welcome to the forum.
  20. Have you tried putting a hose to the drain and back flushing it with water. That always worked on my Champion.
  21. Already done pard.
  22. You might want to consider launching at Masters. It is closer than Crabtree for you.
  23. My last few trips have been in the Little Sac and mid lake in the Big Sac. Both waters have been producing fish but they have been mostly sub legal. This morning I hit the water at 07:30 and made a winding 10 mile ride up the Big Sac river to skinny water. It is kind of murky up there with visibility less than 2'. I fished a spinner bait for a while and caught 2 keepers on it. I switched to a worm on a steeper bank and caught 2 keepers on it. More fish which were too short came on a spinner bait. Later I moved back down river and fished some brush piles. I got one keeper on a jig vertical fishing in 22 fow. That gave me 5 keepers for the day which is a lot better than I have been doing. I wound up with 14 total. When sweat got to dripping off my nose right about noon I headed for the truck and ate my lunch on the way home.
  24. I caught some of those cruisers on spooks a while back. They are the only decent sized fish I have seen in quite a while. I think I'll run up the Big Sac in the morning and see if there are any spinner bait fish in the off colored water. Then I'll go deep.
  25. The last few trips all I can find is dinks no matter if it is jigs, spinner baits, worms or Ned. I have been in both arms and down around the dam. Have the good fish gone deep or am I just on a bad roll? I have not fished brush piles yet. Is that where they have gone? I'm going back in a couple of days any tips would be greatly appreciated.
