  1. Well I thought the Broncs were a shooin so I made a friendly wager on them at the party last evening. Only 3 people in the pool chose the birds. Needless to say there is no sure thing in this world. If I had been home I would have turned off the tube way before halftime.
  2. X2
  3. I was on the rock a few days ago. Flat was iced in the am but cleared. Cape Fair cove was clear as were both ramps at Bridgeport. The back of JL hollow had lots of ice from the first dock all the rest of the way back. I some ice in the mouth of Wolly. Didn't see any ice in the mouth of Buzzard but didn't go up in it. Some friends of mine had to break ice to get a boat out of Mill Creek.
  4. I never personally met him but one of my brothers in law guided for him for over 20 years.
  5. Hope it works for you. I just a new pc with windows 8.1. Most of my stuff about wpt management and cameras don't even work on it as well as my Microsoft work that cost me $350 when I bought it.
  6. I switched to the 16/20 or Pitzen knot several years ago. It is a fast knot to tie, strong, and will hold any line I use (mono, fluro, braid). I can even tie it with gloves on in the winter.
  7. Nice pics Tim. That wind is a bear up here on the flat land. I hope you got a bit of shelter from it down in Stone Co.
  8. Yep thanks Bob. I was going to drive down to State Park and play with my new Accu Vu off one of the docks but I guess that is out of the question right now.
  9. Yep they do but nothing like the lakes that have threadfin. Those babies die by the 10s of 1000s when it gets cold.
  10. I'm going to be in Forsyth in a very few days so if you'll price the rod I may be able to meet up with you.
  11. One of my buds has had one for 11 years. It is the only tin boat I have ever ridden in that has the lift and ride of a glass boat.
  12. I'm interested in the GT66MH. I don't need any of the others as I already have 18 setups in the boat.
  13. So where were you to find ice that thick? I figured most would be gone. I fished table rock and flat was iced over at the bridge in the am but all gone when I left in the pm.
  14. I've been impressed with the Phoenix boats that I have seen. But I'm still a Bass Cat fan.
  15. There are a couple of on line Marine dealers that will beat anything BPS or Cabelas has to offer. I saved several hundred on an hds 8 and lss box buying that way.
  16. 9lb I'm not familiar with that spot. Is that the private campground between Rouark and Greenfield on the left?
  17. I don't use the same rod for a 3/8 that I do for something as heavy as a 3/4. I use Gloomis 843c for the lighter and 844c for the heavier.
  18. I'm surprised that the city would allow tournaments on that lake. Did you have to jump through many hoops to get permission.
  19. The original question was what is best not what may work. Wet cell 1000 CCA won't keep an optimax and electronics going when you are running the aerator, etc. The opti has to turn over several times before it fires and that draws juice.
  20. I go on how my tmotor is doing. As long as I have lots of power at the end of the day I keep using them. Sometimes it will be 4 years sometimes not. I am running agms that are close to 3 years old and so far they hold all day long. Like wrench stated keeping good batteries is a cheap insurance if you want to keep from ruining a day. I fish 80-100 days per year so my batteries don't cost but a buck or so per trip. That is way cheaper than the $50 in gasoline I usually go through.
  21. I have a 225 Opti and also need good CCAs. I went the route of 1000 CCA wet cells and they did fine until I started adding electronics. I have 2 Lowrance hds 8 units with 2 lss boxes. When I would run the aerator by late afternoon my units would shut down when I fired the Opti up. That was because the voltage was dropping below 11 volts. This was happening with a 13 month old 1000 CCA from the local auto parts store. They would not help me with this so I went to Sears and dropped a few bills for the PM 1 AGM battery. It came with a no hassel three year warranty and has been going strong for 2 years now. It has 1150 CCA and being agm no maintenance. When it dies it will be replaced my one just like it. I don't cut corners on batteries as they are the most important tool that I have.
  22. As far as I'm concerned the best of the best is the Pats and Broncs today. It'll be down hill from there.
  23. I let the weather guesser talk me out of going today. 35 mph wind gusts wouldn't be much fun with the cooler temps. They haven't happened yet but it is picking up outside. Come on spring.
  24. Thanks again. I called Charley's and they are open at 0700. That should be perfect as it takes over an hour to get there.
  25. Thanks Wayne. I have eaten at Charley's but never for breakfast. I didn't know that they were open that early.
