  1. I have never found a thermocline to be consistant at Stockton. There is too much wind. The last time I saw any it was at 20' but only in places that the wind did not hit.
  2. Never had trouble with skeeters but the no seeums sometime eat you alive in the full moon.
  3. the bands from www.fishingskirts.com have not rotted for me
  4. With todays bands you don't need to wire them. I have some 3 year olds with bands that are holding up just fine.
  5. For me boat position is the most important key to success. I like to fish windy banks so I am mostly fishing into the wind to control the boat speed and get it into the best possible position to make good casts. There is rarely a time that I can keep a trolling motor on constantly unless I am drag fishing.

I'm not sure either but it seems that in the world where we live there is a lot more criticism than praise these days.
  7. Moonless night---tandem black/red with #5 and #7 Colorado copper slow rolled Bright moon---short arm single spin white with a #5 Colorado silver slow rolled No trailers
  8. I know it is in the works but haven't heard of its taking effect yet. That is probably going to change a lot of things down there. A whole new world may open up for fishermen.
  9. I've thrown them on 10# mono to 50# braid. I have never lost one even when hung in a cedar 10-15' down. My preference is the 50# braid.
  10. You'd be mighty lucky to find one for that unit. Lowrance hasn't supported it for several years. What does the connection fitting look like? I have a puck which was special made for a unit several years ago. Let me know and I'll look for mine and see what it has.
  11. I'm looking for a place that can recarpet my glass bass boat. I also want to take out the glassed in pedestal mounts and have different ones glasses in. Quality work is what I'm looking for and I don't want the boat to be in a shop for weeks on end. Any suggestions?
  12. Yes I make my own FnF jigs. They are deadly for crappie in Jan and Feb if and when they move to the shallow flats. I have never tried them this time of year as I can only throw a 12' leader and my crappie friends are catching them at 20'.
  13. The launch fee is normally $3 if you don't have a pass.
  14. I have never heard of a private ramp on a Corps lake. There are some at the Marina at Kimberling City. Also Aunt's Creek has a good ramp. I wouldn't go to Joe Bald unless they have put in a courtesy docks since I was last down that way.
  15. For some reason they are moving out of the brush. They were close to points today.
  16. FnF is basically a winter time rig. I haven't tried it after the first of March. What species are you trying to catch on it?
  17. For me the different regs would be on Table Rock. The current ones permit only 4 of the (white, striper, hybrid species) over 19" in a limit). In good years you can catch a bunch of big whites and only be able to keep 4.
  18. Walcrabass I agree that there should be a different length limit on them as in some lakes like Table Rock they are very common. I rarely catch one on Stockton or Pomme de Terre. Going on with your idea I'd like to see different regs on stripers, hybrids, and white bass. When I have asked questions of agents in the field about those issues I have always gotten the same answer, "The MDC doesn't think that average MO fisherman can tell the difference in the species". My opinion on that issue is a ticket will send the unlearned fisherman to some information where he/she can learn to tell the difference and avoid a second ticket.
  19. Good idea but my Pop Snagger has one built in.
  20. Thanks bud. I just saw that Spfld had over 7" yesterday so I'll bet both are really rolling now. BTW: How do you get that river info.?
  21. Anyone seen them today? I looked at the lake level this am and it is up 2' from Wednesday. I heard that Republic got 3 1/2" yesterday and the runoff on the north side goes to Stockton. I'm wondering if they are out or nearly out of their banks. If not, I'll bet they will be by tomorrow.
  22. I figured with the post spawn that they would be hanging around deeper water by now. I'm quite surprised.
  23. You're welcome. I also have 6 or several hundred wpts on your little pond that I'd maybe pass on to you if you want them.
