Would this one give good distance in 7’ ultralite?

I went Friday and caught 22 with 15 nice keepers. I took my neighbor today and we caught 50. We kept 30. All were associated with wood from 6 to 25’ deep. We used my homemade stingers. Every color that we used caught fish. Spring cricket was the best with monkey milk being the worst. The water temp was 70°.
The last time I fished Cape Fair I got a scummy ring all around the boat. I got the same thing at Cedar Ridge. Yesterday it happened again above Nemo on Pom. I sure hope we get some rain so maybe it will help clear the water some.
Nemo is 6 miles from the dam. Martin’s flat another mile or so. Are you going to be Boondocking? The campground facilities are closed. The pit toilet at the ramp seems to be all that isn’t locked. I did manage a limit of black crappie on my homemade stingers using a 1/16 oz head. I fished in the Lindley and Pomme. All were associated with wood. Some were as shallow as 10 feet while others were right by the boat in close to 30’. I found the surface temp to be 72°. I caught fish on every color that I threw.
I don’t see how it could be with water in the 70s and lots of places with a 30’ thermocline. The water in the Little Sac is nasty. It turned my white braid brown.
You might call Marine Repair Center (417-833-9191) in Springfield and tell those guys (Scott or Brad) what you want to do and see what they recommend. They might even have a good used unit.
Lebanon probably has a yard waste recycling center. You might be able to get it there. It might even be free. If it is you might even be able to get it in 5 gallon buckets and haul them in your car.
What are you mulching? I quit using straw because of all of the seed germination that I had to deal with. I switched to grass and leaf compost. It covers well, absorbs moisture and puts a slow release nitrogen in the soil. I buy it 2 yards at a time and store it in a bin that holds 5 yards.
I like you make my own heads. I use several configurations and weights. I go with the lightest weight that I can (1/16 to 3/8) depending on the depth. Most of the time it is 1/8 or 3/32. I only use Elaztech worms, Zeros and ZinkerZs.
I’ve fished from a few. They are good for trolling. I’ve never been in one that could be controlled enough for decent casting. I personally have not operated one but my wife owned a deck boat. It rode well and was stable for moving around but the high sides made it impossible to handle in any kind of wind.
I only saw one bow rider up James yesterday. It was a man and a woman just out riding around. He was actually courteous. He slowed down to an idle speed both ways when he came by.
