  1. I used to drop shot. I found it very effective around the edges of hydrilla when I was a few hundred miles south of here. Around here I have done it on ledges but it like stated is boring for me. Shaky is what I do in the prespawn just about any day now as I hate jerkbaits.
  2. I've not caught one on the rock but have on Stockton.
  3. There has been one across from the police station for about 100 years.
  4. When the water is in the bushes, I like to swim a white jig and stop it right on top of them.
  5. I've done a few short looks in that area and come away empty handed for whites. I did see a bunch of paddlefish when I was there.
  6. How many do you want and what would you be willing to pay?
  7. I'm fishing grubs now on TRock for spots with hi vis yellow braid in 8/1 and 5/1. I am not using leader. If I were using a tube, jig, or senko dead sticking or very slow I'd be using a leader.
  8. The tubes are easy but the others have to be injected and you will have to create a prototype, some molds, and some injectors. I looked into have a mold made but the mechanist wanted $400 so I opted to make my own. It was a long and tedious process. To do the tubes all you need is some melted, colored plastisol and any kind of rod. Dip the rod into the plastisol and raise it up. Let it cool a couple of seconds and dip it again. Stop when it is the size and thickness you want. You can fashion a cutter or there are ones that you can buy.
  9. I, like others, have run the gammet on boats on Stockton. Your age, agility and fishing style should play a big part in what you get as well as family if you are married with kids. I started out in a 16' alum with a 9.9 tiller motor. Now I run a 21' bass boat and there are lots of days that I won't take it to Stockton. When the wind is 20-30 mph it is just too rough for me to have any fun so I choose another lake. There are lots of choices but for that lake I think bigger is better and safer. I'm not sure I'd want an 18' unless it was a deep V.
  10. 2 things come to mind: 1. Look up BOE Marine and see what their price is on the lss1. I bought one from them and saved over $100 since there is no sales tax and shipping was free. 2. Mount it on the trolling motor if you are going to be using it while fishing. Mounted in the back is only good for scanning and marking as far as I am concerned. Remember that Lowrance has a rebate deal going on right now. That will save you more bones.
  11. Here you go. http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/pt/Brochure/FactSheet.pdf
  12. Panfisher told me last fall that it would have to get close to 20' above pool before they would let water out. The work is not done and it will take a month or so to finish it. Even if they decide to run water, they have to give the contractor 10 days to remove all of his equipment.
  13. I don't like the Lin near as much as the Pom. There are a lot more good fish in the Pom as far as I am concerned and a lot more territory to fish.
  14. Not only some shallow places like above that row of docks but stickups just barely under the water at pool and sudden channel changes make it a little tricky but not as bad as going up the Lindley. I might be able to pm you a map with a trail on it if you want me to try. I'm not sure if I can or not.
  15. A few showed up back in early Feb but they were running water every day. I haven't heard of any in the last few weeks. If you go into Beaver Creek watch for shallow water before the first bend.
  16. Depending on what kinds of structure you like, you may want to venture on down toward K Dock. I have caught a lot more blacks down that way than I have above it.
  17. There was a big white bass die off at Pomme. One of the corps guys told me he had only seen 1 all year long and the MDC creel guy said he had only checked 7 all year long. You may want to take some crappie stuff with you when you go.
  18. Yes it is above Lightfoot before you get to Big Hollow cove. I hope it has changed hands and isn't so creepy.
  19. Phil you should see the craft hair jig in the water. With very little effort it will really do a dance whereas the maribou has to be worked a lot more. I only use 1/16 FnF because heavier pulls my float under and really messes things up. I also like to have less craft hair on my jigs than the ones you typically buy.
  20. Wow those are about as pricey as the Dale Hollow ones. I'm sure glad I learned how to tie my own.
  21. If the storms hold off, I going to hit that area again today and see if Phil's dock info was good.
  22. That is a great fishing area. There are many places to fish but it would help a great deal if you told us what species you would be targeting and what type of fishing you want to do as there are trout, largemouth bass, small mouth bass, white bass and crappie just to name a few.
  23. Sounds like you already own my next boat. There is no better aluminum on the market than a Lund.
  24. Have you ever beat Johnny's prices at an Academy? I have been to the one in Joplin and several in TX but thought they were too pricey.
  25. I can't remember the name of it but we used to get all kinds of used motor stuff from a guy over at Grove OK.
