Jeff and I started before sunrise. We hit several normally good spots but no fish. It was almost 2 hours before Jeff got a jig fish. I couldn’t get a jig bite but caught some on shaky. We fished the main lake, creeks, bluffs and coves. We never could get a pattern. We wound up with about a dozen with maybe 1 keeper spot. The water was 68° and we had a light ne breeze with a mile high sky. We dis see a guy load a pontoon on a goose neck flat bed trailer.

It is only 3 feet below the old power pool level. I’ve seen it low enough that there was actually an island in front of the Beaver Creek dock and you couldn’t safely get above Barker’s Hole. But that didn’t stop the walleye and whites. I quit going down there after they raised the pool level. It changed everything for the type of fishing that we did. Places that had been reliable for years no longer held fish and I just didn’t want to spend the time learning new patterns.

I bought some Tackle Max Fugitive swim baits. The first one that I tried got ripped on the second fish. I replaced it and had good success with its replacement. I used Mend-It and fixed it. After using it for 2 trips it is back on the work bench letting the Mend-It repair dry. I wish that Mitch made a 2.8 so I could quit buying Keitechs. -
You bet. When I did a lot of white bass fishing. I’ve been in some with my old Champion 206 that made my draw string pucker. But if one is diligent and pays attention to the weather it can be a great place to go.

I think we are talking about a 16’ aluminum boat here. That is a whole different ballgame. The wind at Stockton can get a two to three mile unimpeded run due to the lay of the land and a 15 mph can get hairy if one doesn’t know the lake and has a small boat.

Go into them if possible. Go slow. Try to keep from being sideways. I have a 20’ boat and really don’t think much about it anymore. The main thing I would recommend is decide what you want to do then pick then pick the part of the lake that fits your plan, listen to the weather forecast, also check wind finder, pick a ramp nearest the area you want to fish and don’t go if the wind is going to be above 15 mph.

Hey glad you got out. We fished Stockton. It was white capping when we arrived. The caps turned into rollers before the day was over. We caught a bunch of 14-14.5” largemouth and several smallmouth. My coppertruse was the best bait. If we were more than 2’ off the bank we couldn’t get a bite.

It was a cold slow start for me. I caught that smb on a Tackle Max swim bait but nothing else. I had some fish pestering me on shaky but no takers. The Crig was the most productive thing I used today. It was cold but beautiful with very few others out.

Jeff met me at 06:30 this morning. We headed down lake. We looked for a top water bite that wasn’t there. We each got one on a buzz bait but nothing on a regular top water. When I tired of that I started throwing a shaky. I caught a couple but Jeff was using a jig. His jig was getting more bites than my worm so I switched back and forth from jig to shaky. He stuck with the jig. We wound up catching 20 bass, mostly spots. We didn’t really measure many but had some good quality fat spots that were just shy of 15.

A couple of years ago I got some good advice about these seats. Now I need some more. I bought the ones with straps because I wanted to be able to adjust the seat back angle. Now the straps are showing a lot of wear so I bought the cables and mounted them at the proper angle for me. My question is on tighten the cables. Should they be tight against the seat frame or allowed to move as the seat is folded and unfolded?

Nice brown fish there. Devan rumors abound depending on where you hang out. I heard a black spinner bait rumor a while back but have yet to tie one on.

Bluebird sky and little wind didn’t help much today. If I could have kept some from coming unbuttoned we would have had more. It was still a good day to be on the water.

I buy it at 3 Rapid Roberts stores and none of them have signs except premium which is ethanol free.

My neighbor and I have been on a decent swim bait bite at Stockton. I make 2 kinds of swim baits and they don’t work as well as the Keitech swing impact fat. I’m looking for something else to use that is more durable. I rarely get more than 2 fish per Keitech. What are you guys using?

I only know of one person who has one. He is a dooms day prepper. He keeps his stuff in a cave along with all of his homemade moon shine.
