Do you buy your led in led bars. I am wondering about what you pay for it? I get mine free from my daughter in law. It is old lead pipe. Some if it 100 years old. The remelting and cleaning can be a messy proces to say the least. I use wax as my flux to do that . Allegedly it is safer. I stick a long candle down in the lead to flux it. If the heat is to high however the melted candle was will bounce to the top of the lead pot and pool. it will almost instantly turn into a vapor rising stright up and ignite sort of a scary thing just short of a explosion. So I am thinking about looking for another scourse. One thing about the fluxing it sure makes a smooth pouring led at lower heat.

Yeah I have used that kind if stuff. That stuff is usully hard to the point of being almost brittle. That is because it us full of impurities, The wax will not change the hardness but it will draw out impurities in the form of slag ( It will surprise you just how much) that will make it esier to pour. BE CAREFUL
I ran out of thread the other day and tied one with 10 lb braid. It worked in the pinch but the wrapping is hard to keep nice. If it matters. The one below was tied with braid. It is in Naturl color vein that constitues 99% of my bass fishing jigs and plstic wormson this lake
