I made a Low Country boil for my wife's Chinese friends. They thought it was great but they ate only the shrimp, crabs, and mussels. Had way too many baby potatoes and half ears of corn left. If Only I could've secretly recorded the conversation/noises when they all started in on the food...?
I would also consider buying .100" thick aluminum. The thicker aluminum makes a sturdier hull that holds up better to rocks, logs, gravel. You will go thru a learning curve, and will smack a few rocks hard. Yes it will be a little heavier and won't go as fast.
..... my 2 cents.
Pretty much yes, I think the actual break strength is much higher than the listed strength...that's why they came out with "Trophy" lines years ago that were designed to break at the exact listed strength for people going for line records. Braid is a different animal all together.
The one thing I'll say about different lines. They all play specsmanship with line pounds ratings vs diameters. The truth is a bigger diameter will make the line much more abrasion resistant. Trying to purchase a line with a thin diameter can get you in trouble fast.
Very nice report!
I have no idea exactly what this Pokemon stuff is all about. I remember 10 years ago there was a Pokemon craze....is this the same thing revisited?
I tried Suffix Elite for the first time the other day....super smooth, but a little too smooth actually. Pitched like a dream except the line would slip down and wedge in between what I assume was too loosely spooled line and cause the pitch to stop in mid pitch and the jig would fly up in the air. Thought it was a fluke at first until it did it like 15 times. I guess the line is too smooth.
I'll stick with Yozuri Hybrid...the best all around line I've ever used
I see your point, but $30 is way too much IMO. $5-$10 sounds more reasonable. I'm guessing he had a bad experience somewhere down the line. Maybe he thinks he can price his way out of the Riff Raff
You have no idea....Paul is the most organized guy I know. He once offered to take all my junk tackle in the basement and organize a garage sale. I told him he could could keep 50% out of whatever we got. He said "No, I just love doing that stuff"
I've been to Pradco's headquarters. Their design engineer told me about the extremely thin margins they operate on. I'm sure it was about squeaking an extra few pennies out of a bait. I can tell you the place wasn't the Taj Mahal.
