    What's Cooking?

Actually I think I screwed up, I assumed my fridge in the basement was between 34 and 38 degrees F. I let the meat go 5 days at 41 before I corrected the temp... Now I'm fearful of the result. But this weekend it will be ready. I planned it for this weekend because my wife's dad is coming to visit from China, the mom is already here BTW. He had to go back to Take care of business. I don't want to poison anyone?, I don't know what to do?? Help
  2. Haha...... yep, Paul Dallas takes no prisoners!
  3. Participation Trophy generation. I like the "Rugged" Urban Beardsmen with man buns, who've never changed a flat tire. Unfortunately I will have to give up my daughters to these sissys one day, not looking forward to it.
  4. Yes, they don't last very long. Gels are better
  5. Funny you say that, I've never caught smallmouth of any size on the Big Piney either. Me and that river don't seem to get along...But Gavin did catch a Big One a couple of years ago
  6. If you imagine current, no matter how small, is sending a signal with your bait that's dipped in scent. I think the fish are curious enough to follow a scent trail and come over to investigate, then maybe see your lure and take it. Then the scent might might help them hold on long enough to get hooked. If you add fluorocarbon line, a better technique, right size bait, color, etc., you're putting all the odds in your favor and it might translate to more bites during the day. ps.....that's my story, and I'm sticking to it?
  7. I'm a firm believer, but I wouldn't use a spray on. The gels will last much longer. Since I don't put salt in my Craws, I rely on a gel scent, which can also add a little UV as well
  8. I fished for an hour yesterday by your property Al, my trolling motor quit and had to stop. Didn't do well at all!?
  9. I tromped around Pelican Island quite a bit, but never found a dead body
  10. Ha ha, Great story! My BB gun made a ricochet noise when you fired it, can't remember the make. But I eventually replaced it with a wrist rocket sling shot.
  11. I've always wanted to fish for bass at Taneycomo. Maybe someday
  12. Southern Oklahoma could be spawning fish
  13. I think you're probably right Harry!
  14. Or another flood displaced farm pond fish from the Glaise!!??? Maybe he smelled all the Chomper garlic from LOZ and chose not to hunker down and ride it out!?
  15. A bright spot for this thread! Good advice!
  16. Makes you glad the first guy released the fish. In a way this is kind of disheartening, the fact that this fish was caught twice in less than a month. Makes you wonder, if you let your mind drift a bit, that we are all chasing an increasingly diminishing number of big fish. The fish also took the same bait. I wonder if the second guy had it mounted?
  17. Maybe only Halfsheimers!
  18. So Paul, you showed me a pic of the 10 pounder that was caught in the same area a couple of weeks ago by Uxa's client. They sure look like the same fish according to the tail damage. Could it be??? Both caught on a spinner bait too!
  19. Why is everything on fire this year? Someone flipped a switch!
  20. They can definitely be remelted Al, have done it before.
  21. If memory serves, Jerry's other buddy caught a 12 or 13 pound on a KVD Square Bill last April 1st!!?
  22. Tell Mr. steelhead I said hello!
  23. Kurt Cobain, much ado about nothing
