I made Wisconsin Beer Cheese Soup out of a slow cooker. Pretty good but it seemed I should've softened the chopped veggies a little more before I put them in the slow cooker. It was still pretty good for a crappy weather day. ?

They are also extremely skittish fish, you can see them on the top from 50 yards away gulping plankton. Even when drifting or using the trolling motor ever so slightly, you cannot seem to sneak up on them.

All I can say is, there is only one species of fish and their advocates that have been able to successfully ban gigging from their trophy areas.......and it ain't bass ??

First thing I'd do is buy a few more (maybe 10) Megabass jerkbaits. I might even replace the hooks. After that I'm not sure how much I'd have left.?

I would also avoid adding any jigging/popping motions with your rod tip during the retrieve, especially on a minnow imitation jig. The extra action might work well for trout, but I've caught more nice size bass just slowly reeling those minnow imitations back, like a Ned rig. The hair imparts all the action you'll need. The bigger bass usually slowly swim up behind the jig at a slightly faster speed, and simply open their mouths and over take it. This is why you sometimes never feel the tap. The rod just loads up.

During summer months, Any time there is a forecast for rain starting midday, I try to make it to the river. First, it keeps everyone else off the river. Second, the fish always bite well during the low pressure. I've rarely been burned doing this.
